The Brunch House - Temecula

ileana giles I went on Oct 25th and Nov 15th to enjoy brunch and read a bit. On my first visit, I ordered Caramel Latte, Blackberry Peach Cobbler French Toast, Eggs and Home Potatoes. The server and Manager were friendly and kept checking on me with good timing. The atmosphere feels like you are at home eating. On my second visit, I ordered BYO Omelette, Home Potatoes and Sourdough Slices. Both of these dishes are delicious. I definitely will continue to eat here and also take friends next time with me. Thank you to the people who make the food and the people working out on the dinning area.

Carlitos Méxican Restaurant - Red Bluff

Jeremy Cowin We’re visiting family in Red Bluff and spending time at all of our favorite spots, so it probably feels like I’m leaving a lot of five-star reviews—but this one is well deserved. Carlitos is hands-down our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. We especially loved the Christmas decorations this time around. The food is excellent, but honestly, the service might be even better. Drinks were never empty, refills showed up before we had to ask, and the staff was incredibly attentive the entire meal. One moment that really stood out: our grandchild finished coloring on his kids menu, and out of nowhere one of the staff members showed up with a fresh coloring sheet and new crayons. No request, no delay—just thoughtful, friendly service. The staff here is always welcoming, observant, and genuinely kind, and that consistency keeps us coming back. The only downside is the parking lot—it’s a bit rough—but that’s not their fault and absolutely shouldn’t stop anyone from eating here. If you’re looking for the best Mexican restaurant in town, Carlitos is it.

Hana Japanese Restaurant - Fairfield

Amelia Laguna Delicious! I’m glad we gave them a try. The bento box was a good price, and the sweet sesame dressing was a big improvement over the standard “pink dressing” so many restaurants have for their salads. The only thing that would make it better would be if the chicken teriyaki could be made with chicken breast instead of skin-on thighs. We left about 1/4 of the chicken behind because it was too fatty for our tastes. I forgot to take pictures of the miso soup, but it was delicious. I prefer bigger chunks of tofu, but I’m in the minority opinion on that. The rainbow roll was nicely made and well balanced. The avocado was perfectly ripe, the crab wasn’t too mayo-y, and the fish was all fresh (no fishy-smell). It didn’t fall apart while eating it. We’ll be back!

Robert Ballantyne Went there on a Monday night with 3 other friends. We had reservations and we were seated right away. We had two dogs with us and were seated on the outside patio. There were heaters and it was very comfortable. They have a nice selection of wine by the glass and found a red and white we liked. Wonderful fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was brought out. Then we started off with the Caesar Salad. A nice generous portion with the usual ingredients. And I had a cup of the chowder. Very tasty, thick chowder full of clams. Our mains were Veggie Pasta which was light and flavorful with fresh basil and olives, Lamb Stroganoff, with very tender lamb over pasta noodles in a nice sour cream sauce, and two specials (from a separate menu). The Seafood Cioppino and Lobster Ravioli. Both were very good. The Cioppino was served in a bowl with assorted local seafood in a wonderful broth. The Ravioli had a subtle lobster flavor in a nice creamy tomato sauce. It was a birthday celebration so we were served two wonderful deserts, a decadent gluten free chocolate protein and a cookie butter banana pie. Both were quickly eaten! On top of the wonderful food, the staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We never felt rushed either. We had such a good time that we returned the next day for lunch! Wondeful burgers and fries (only served til 4pm). And the same wonderful and helpful staff! If I lived in Carmel I would certainly be a regular. Well worth a visit!
