Molly Kelly We LOVED 1850 Restaurant!!! We were here for Memorial Day weekend and stopped in for dinner both nights. Not only was the service amazing- but the food was incredible as well! Even though it was definitely a busy weekend, they had an efficient system where theyd give you a buzzer and you could hangout at the bar or in your car while waiting for an open table. The outdoor seating was great both nights! The second night we were there, we had just finished exploring Yosemite NP and my fiance had proposed to me there!!! The waitresses were so sweet & excited for us and even gave us complimentary champagne. It was such a good day and 1850 restaurant made it such a special night! We will absolutely be stopping back in the next time were in the area!

GlomadicLife This has been my go-to café in downtown San Mateo for years. I come here all the time — for casual breakfasts, coffee meetings, afternoon tea, and meeting new friends. It never disappoints. Coffee is consistently good. The turmeric latte is perfect during seasonal transitions, and their signature Yema Latte and Cuban coffee are always solid. Food-wise, I usually go for the spinach and mushroom quiche or the tomato basil quiche — simple, fluffy, and comforting. Desserts are great too. The chocolate coffee tart is a standout (rich and chocolaty with pistachio flakes), and the passion fruit tart is a crowd favorite. The space is cozy, warm, and inviting. Outdoor seating is dog-friendly with plenty of room, and the indoor area is always comfortable and beautiful. Service is consistently attentive and friendly, which makes it an easy place to linger. All in all, Foreigner is one of those reliable, feel-good spots you keep coming back to — whether it’s for a quiet coffee, a casual business chat, or a relaxed weekend brunch. Perfect for: coffee meetings, casual breakfasts, and a cozy neighborhood café you can always count on.

Aakansha Maheshwari Excellent food and drinks! We got the vegan dumpling soup, garlic noodles with tofu and pad thai brussel sprouts - it was delicious. The service is great, ambience is lovely and they have a good selection of beers and cocktails! Def going back for more!

Ahmad Alfilimbany Very nice modern spot with a clean aesthetic and friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. The food is great comfort fare — I highly recommend the Original Single Patty with fries for a classic combo. The Mushroom Chicken is a flavorful option if you’re looking for something different, and the Mac N Cheese is creamy and satisfying. Portions are generous, definitely great for sharing. Overall, a solid choice for a casual bite while shopping.

Elizabeth Flores Just moved to the area was in the plaza asked a couple people where is a good place to eat so I took a chance i kid you not it def my new spot 1. Food the lamb chops is a must try like mouth watering delicious and for the price you can not beat it. 2. Service from Miriam an cat take service to a top tier level. And the the drink were perfect not to strong an def not week. If you’re in the area you need to try this place. I’m already making plans to come back this week!!!! Shout out to miram a cat if you ask for them you won’t go wrong. I’m in the industry for 20 years and idk if I work with ppl as good as them!
