Thai Smile Palm Springs - Palm Springs

Amy Gu We ordered chicken wings, two different noodle dishes and mango sticky rice as dessert. Everything tasted delicious and in generous portions. Service was friendly and tentative. Very good restaurant in Palm Springs downtown!

Tery Ayers Dropped in after a movie for a late lunch. We have eaten at this location previously. The staff was great, it was the food that was not great today. My Burger was overcooked and dry, frys were not hot and seemed like they were sitting for awhile. We will try again perhaps an off day for the chef staff.

Deluxe 1717 - Pasadena

Rating: 4.7 /5
E C Deluxe 1717 is our restaurant of choice anytime my I and/or my husband are in the area (we live 70 miles away, or else we’d be there all the time)! We even went there for brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary after attending service in the church where we got married in LA – sure, there are tons of great LA options we could have gone with, but there is something extra special about Deluxe. The food is beyond excellent, with a varied and creative menu. The wine list is unique and offers great pairing options. The service is always friendly and attentive. All this, in a charming ambiance. Well worth the trip every time! I’ve mostly been there for brunch, savoring dishes like smoked salmon arepa benedict, roasted cauliflower and leek quiche, mushroom quiche, seasonal waffles, Bolivian empanada, Cuban sandwich, burrata, tuna carpaccio, and my favorite, olive oil poached wild mushrooms with forbidden rice. Their quiche of the day comes with locally sourced greens that melt in your mouth. Their dinner menu is also fabulous, such as the Deluxe nachos, grilled hanger steak carne asada, Peruvian grilled chicken, Cuban bowl, miso carbonara. Favorite desserts include their Thai tea crème brulé and strawberry rhubarb galette. Drinks I or friends/family have enjoyed: rosé by the glass, exotic fruit mimosas, hibiscus (with or without champagne!), and reds like Miroballi Pinot Noir, La Bastide Cote Du Rhone and Brick Mason Red Blend. Aside from brunch and dinner, they frequently do special events ranging from “Thursty” Thursdays with fun appetizers, multi-course dinners with pairings, themed menus and drink, and holiday parties. The space is classy and cozy, with comfy indoor seating and walls filled with a fun blend of artwork, as well as a cute patio. The location is convenient to access while also not congested. Above all, Deluxe is run by wonderful people. Onil, the owner, is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, with infectiously positive energy. He is an absolute delight to be around! The staff are all so lovely and warm, in addition to providing top-notch meals, service and wine pairing suggestions that are on point! They also care for their community. Notably, in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire earlier this year, Deluxe hosted free neighborhood meals for their community and first responders, collected donations to help affected home and business owners, supported fundraising efforts, and more.

Fresno Country Cafe - Fresno

Rating: 4.7 /5
O S This is a quiet breakfast house. Very neat and clean, the bathroom has an oddly placed mirror that made an impression. The bad; the coffee was on the lower side of average and my overeasy eggs felt undercooked. My meal however, asada country breakfast was a pleasant surprise. They got what many get wrong; beans and tortillas. I got three small flour tortillas heated to perfection. The 3 chips they stabbed into the beans between queso fresco were delightful, so good I was robbed of two of them. The staff were mostly friendly, hostess was a gem. Asada strips were evenly grilled and not excessive fatty, it was a nice tenderish piece of solid meat. I got a side of sausage links and those were amazing.

San Rafael Joes - San Rafael

Steve Ionescu What a wonderful spot in San Rafael. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the seafood plate and it was incredible. The mozzarella fritta was crispy. Paired with two different sauces. The cheese ravioli with carbonara sauce and meatballs was a hit. Took some leftovers for lunch. If you get a chance to stop in. Make yourself at home and enjoy the wonderful flavors of Italy. Service was on point. Didn’t disappoint.

Elderwood - Visalia

Robert U We went there with a large group and made a reservation. We were seated right away. The only seating option for a group of 7 was outside on the roof. They do have portacool AC outside to help keep you cool, but it does kinda blow on you as you are eating. We turned it so it was facing away from the table slightly, also the sun was setting, so I would recommend bringing sunglasses. The food and drinks were great, they also have a small kids menu available upon request. The kid options were Mac and cheese, a burger and chicken. The burger and fries was a good kid option. I ordered the shrimp scampi, it was delicious. The Mostly sunny drink was also very good.
