Eastbound Bar & Grill - (Near Lakeside, CA)

3 /5 Natalie: Came here Mother’s Day and it was pretty packed though we were able to snag a table for five. The downside was that it was a corner table with stools and we barely fit our plates on this very small table. We might’ve just been placed underneath the speaker, but the music was very loud. There was free popcorn near the back on your way to the restrooms, which was nice and they have seating outback. The brunch menu has a lot to offer but I stuck with my faithful choice of a traditional breakfast as my rule goes: if you can’t do a simple breakfast, I don’t wanna be here. The biscuit was a little too cake-y for my liking. I put on a lot of butter and it still would not help cut the density of it. The bacon was well cooked not too greasy. I think my issue with the plate was that right when I started eating it already felt like it was sitting for a while as it wasn’t piping hot. So when I got to the halfway point, my food was definitely getting very cold. The prices though are really good I think for five of us It was about $100 which is pretty impressive. I’m not sure if I come here again as I had high hopes

5 /5 Erin Hagen: Service is blended... Inside the restaurant, the servers are amazing. Very attentive and patient. The music can get a bit loud inside, but its very clean and fun. Outside- its self serve, and food is delivered to you. The food runners are not really attentive at all, and since you dont have a server, youre kinda on your own (which I think its fair to be expected). But there is a bar outside so the bartender can help with everything you may need. So that was nice to have, instead of going inside for extras we needed. The outdoor area is really chill. Theres space for little ones to run, picnic tables as well as high top and regular tables, and cute sitting benches. Its well decorated and the ambience is relaxed. Tvs were playing 90s music videos so that was fun. There are also a few arcade games to entertain the kids. The food is always good, nothing over the top but good bar food. I like the wedge salad and hubs likes the burgers. Overall its an enjoyable experience!

5 /5 Sqwerlgirl: Friendly neighborhood spot with tasty bar food and vegetarian options. The service was EXCELLENT. Waitress asked our names and introduced herself and the other server. They checked on us and filled our glasses 4 times. Country music videos playing on tv with sports channels muted in the background. Cute small town country vibe. Fun relaxing neighborhood hangout.

5 /5 OoberRoadie: My friends and I had lunch at Eastbound Bar and Grill today and it was really good. I had the Eastbounder burger with a side of onion rings. I’m an onion ring lover, so I couldn’t wait to dig into those things. They had a nice crispy crust that had good flavor. And they were served hot. I tend to eat my onion rings first because if they sit, they get soggy and slightly greasy, so as I ate these, I realized there’s a lot of them and I figured if I eat all these onion rings, there’s no way I’m going to eat that hamburger. So the hamburger became my evening meal. Judging the quality of a hamburger that has sat around for a couple of hours wouldn’t be fair, but even though it sat around for a couple of hours, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And it’s a big burger, half pound, that was slightly pink, juicy and done just right. Our server was prompt and friendly, and the ambience was upbeat and a tribute to the country and western theme of Lakeside.
