Linn Brown The Saap Avenue is an amazing place! The curry is so warming and delicious. The people who work here couldn’t be sweeter. The bartender and the bar can’t be beat…so creative. If you want Laotian food and a wonderful cocktail or two, this is your place!

Vicky T We went Tuesday night, they werent busy. The food was served quick, service was great. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Price was reasonable. It was around $60 for 2 of us for this amount of food Kua Mee (5/5) we both like the texture and flavor. Its not too dry like other reviews said, but not too soggy. We asked for spicy and the spice level was perfect. Beef lapp (4/5): it was ok in my opinion. The beef was tender, the flavor is a but salty, it would be perfect to eat with rice Kao Soy (4/5): its also just salty flavor, but I think it is how it is since I tried it at other Laos restaurant and it is how it is Mango sticky rice (5/5) you will never go wrong with mango sticky rice. It wasnt too sweet and perfect texture even though its not mango season Thai tea (4/5): too sweet for me. I wish they were able to adjust the sweetness, but even extra cream still makes it too sweet.

Petiscos "Downtown" - San Jose

narae kim I was really looking forward to trying authentic Portuguese food today. Overall, the flavors were on the saltier side for a Michelin-rated restaurant, and the wine list wasn’t very extensive. Corkage is $45. Compared to other Portuguese restaurants I’ve tried in San Jose, a few dishes here are quite close to the authentic local taste. The white sangria was pleasantly balanced—not too sweet—and very refreshing. The blood sausage was chewy, aromatic, and tasted truly authentic, with just the right amount of salt. The duck rice was my absolute favorite. The seasoning was perfect for my taste, and I loved the chewy texture and the rich, layered broth with mushrooms—it was full of depth and flavor. The cod casserole tasted like a gratin, but it was way too salty. If it were slightly less salty, it would have been much better. Still, it paired nicely with the duck rice—but I probably wouldn’t order it again. The tempura beans were crispy on the outside with a nice bite from the beans inside—tasty but nothing special. The house aioli wasn’t the traditional Portuguese or Spanish yolk-heavy version; it was more like the American-style aioli. I would definitely come back for the blood sausage and duck rice—those two dishes are must-tries! Service was excellent—the staff replaced plates, cleaned the table promptly, and were very polite throughout.
