4 /5 Cody Pham: My most recent visit to Lamplight Lounge was… still good, but perhaps a little less magical than I would have liked. For starters, we had issues with the walk-in waitlist. We had a party of 7, and even though we were trying to enter as soon as the waitlist opened, we could not queue for a party of 7 on the app. We were, however, able to queue for a party of 3 and 4. We then asked if we could combine those tables to seat 7, which we could. So I don’t understand why it was so difficult to queue for 7 people on the app. I am, however, grateful to the staff for making it happen.
This was also my first time sitting upstairs instead of in the downstairs Lamplight Lounge - Boardwalk Dining area. I wish there was a separate Yelp page for the downstairs dining area, because my experience there has been 5 stars every time. A notable difference in these two seating areas is menu variety. Unlike its downstairs counterpart, the upstairs Lamplight Lounge lacks an entree section in its menu. In lieu of this, they have the lobster nachos, a dish that is exclusive to upstairs. I thought the lobster nachos could have been better. The flavors were good, but the chips were a bit stale.
The drinks, on the other hand, were good as always. I always get the Fun Wheel cocktail, which is colorful and delightful. Mostly everyone else remarked that they liked their drinks as well.
Service was.. Ok. A little less peppy than I was used to, but decent still.
We had a nice view of the Pixar Pal-A-Round from our table upstairs, but honestly, I think I prefer sitting downstairs on the Boardwalk. You still get a nice view of the ferris wheel downstairs, the ambiance is a little livelier, and you get to eat real meals.
