The Red Door - San Diego

Rating: 4.6 /5
Rafael T I went to The Red Door in Mission Hills about two weeks ago with my uncle Ramón. I ordered the Wellington steak and a banana cream pie, and everything was absolutely delicious! The service was great and the staff was super friendly. The Wellington steak was exactly what I was recommended — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Definitely worth the visit!

Michael Smith Really enjoyed the food here. PB&J burger was solid but the Bison meatloaf with Wagyu and bacon transported you to a heavenly home-style village. Fries and house-made chips with specialty house sauces were solid as well. The butter cake sealed the deal with its rich flavor and crispiness topped with delicious vanilla-bean ice cream! Jake was an excellent server, hope we get him again sometime! Since it was our first time, the chips were complimentary, and they also gave out a card for a free appetizer or dessert on the next visit.

Black Bear Diner Hayward - Hayward

Rating: 4.1 /5
Cassandra Phillips, REALTOR Black Bear Diner is a gem with a heartwarming story and unforgettable food. From the moment you step in, you know you’re in for something special. The backstory behind this place is truly inspiring. It’s more than just a restaurant, it’s an experience built on passion, community and a love for great food. The sweet cream pancakes and french toast are fluffy and flavorful. Pair them with the perfectly seasoned chicken sausage and scrambled eggs.. just delicious! The service was friendly, fast and genuinely welcoming. You’ll feel like family from the moment you’re seated. If you’re dining with little ones, the Kids Eat Free special from 4-9pm daily is a generous bonus that shows they care about families. Be sure to review the Black Bear Gazette. It’s a good read! You’ll se bears everywhere but not to worry, they’re the cute kind. Open 24 hours a day means breakfast all day! Black Bear Diner is always ready to welcome you with a smile for breakfast or dinner. Dine inside or on the open airy patio and enjoy the sight of the hand carved bears. Looking forward to the North Texas Black Bear experience in Mesquite and Fort Worth!

Foreigner Cafe - San Mateo

Rating: 4.4 /5
GlomadicLife This has been my go-to café in downtown San Mateo for years. I come here all the time — for casual breakfasts, coffee meetings, afternoon tea, and meeting new friends. It never disappoints. Coffee is consistently good. The turmeric latte is perfect during seasonal transitions, and their signature Yema Latte and Cuban coffee are always solid. Food-wise, I usually go for the spinach and mushroom quiche or the tomato basil quiche — simple, fluffy, and comforting. Desserts are great too. The chocolate coffee tart is a standout (rich and chocolaty with pistachio flakes), and the passion fruit tart is a crowd favorite. The space is cozy, warm, and inviting. Outdoor seating is dog-friendly with plenty of room, and the indoor area is always comfortable and beautiful. Service is consistently attentive and friendly, which makes it an easy place to linger. All in all, Foreigner is one of those reliable, feel-good spots you keep coming back to — whether it’s for a quiet coffee, a casual business chat, or a relaxed weekend brunch. Perfect for: coffee meetings, casual breakfasts, and a cozy neighborhood café you can always count on.
