4 /5 Lindsey G: Mankas Grill made a strong first impression. The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed, and the service was warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. Our server read off the specials with so much detail that I ended up ordering the halibut special, and their wine list had several great options—the one I chose paired perfectly with the meal.
We started by sharing the French onion soup, which actually had excellent flavor, but surprisingly lacked the amount of cheese you’d typically expect. Still, it was comforting and delicious. The oysters, on the other hand, were outstanding—fresh, bright, and served with a pickled radish add-on I’d never had before. Now I’m officially addicted and will be hunting for that combination everywhere.
For entrées, I had the halibut while my friend ordered the steak. Both dishes were high-quality and beautifully presented, but they leaned lighter on seasoning than expected. I even asked for extra topping sauce to bring out more flavor. The ingredients and execution were solid—the dishes just needed a stronger punch.
Despite that, the overall experience was lovely. Between the service, atmosphere, and the standout appetizers, I would definitely return to try more of the menu. Mankas Grill has a lot of potential, and I enjoyed my first visit.
