Papi Clarys Kitchen - (Near Concord, CA)

5 /5 Christopher Quibol: Been big on Papi Clary’s Kitchen for years now. We’ve driven multiple times from the Central Valley just to grab some food all the way in Concord. The chicken sandwich is as good as everyone says, giant piece of chicken, super flavorful slaw. Top 3 I’ve ever had. The CJ special is my favorite, and all the Birria variations are hitters, especially the lumpia. The Dubai chocolate cups were fire too. Heard they even do traditional Filipino BBQ on Friday nights. Can’t recommend checking it out enough if you’re looking for flavorful, filling food and supporting small business and women/POC owned businesses.

5 /5 Jaquez Thomas: Personally I really enjoyed this place. You could tell it’s a small hole in the wall spot that makes their food with love. The spicy chicken sandwich was amazing. Double pieces of chicken on it with Texas toast, coleslaw, some spicy mayo and perfectly cooked chicken. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection. It was honestly hard to put down. The QuesaBirria taco was amazing too. Perfect amount of cheese, sauce was nice and mild, and the meat was tender and cooked to perfection. There’s nothing bad I could say about the food at all as it was all enjoyable. Only bad thing I can say is it was a bit loud and we had to clean our tables ourselves but hey other than that, I had no problem ! I will definitely be back.

2 /5 Lydia McGill: Food want all that. Its eatable I guess. Was not what I expected. Pictures looks good food is average. They have salsa with no taste, fries dry and hard.

1 /5 M: Just got a soggy and soppy quesadilla. The meat is salty. To clarify, i know they are often dipped in a sauce, but this was too soggy. Maybe they are short staffed, but the wait was long while they worked on what seemed to be small orders before mine.

3 /5 sidels Minpins: *update* Met mitsu friends there for a quick bite late lunchy snacky thing we wanted to try the Dubai strawberry dessert. I ordered the CJ special burrito thing and it was okay but it wasnt great my friends chicken slider again it looked dark brown like they need to change the oil the tacos the birra taco and the birra quesadilla were fabulous. After we ate we ordered the strawberry Dubai chocolate pistachio... I ordered it I paid for it I waited 20 minutes and then I walked app to find out what was going on with my order and they totally forgot about it. I dont know that theyre actually using Dubai chocolate I have the strawberries were really big and hard to eat it just wasnt impressive. Again they had the TV on and it was so loud I couldnt hear the person sitting next to me as we tried to talk First time there, the food was good theres no description of what is on each item so I would have enjoyed my dish more if I knew that there wasnt raw onions on it I wouldnt expect onions on a grilled cheese and Birra sandwich. The chicken on my friends quesadilla she said was tender but the batter was fried and it was so dark it almost look burnt so they need to change the oil more often. There are sparse tables I think there was like 5 tables and chairs they needed to be wiped down there was crumbs on them and its not really a sit down and eat place its obvious that they really dont want people to sit there because the walls are kind of dingy and its just not a welcoming environment and they say no public restrooms. Theres a lot of dust and debris on the light fixtures that are hanging from the ceiling. They had 1 TV hanging on the wall and it was playing some music but it was so loud I couldnt here what my friend was saying and she was sitting across the table from. I did make mention of it to the young lady at the cash register but she just kinda rolled it off she wasnt rude about it she just kind of ignored the fact that I couldnt hear and I said something. There is a lot of take out going on while we were there. I may eat there again but I would look and see if it had been cleaned up a little bit more and what the orders were that were coming out ahead of me because old oil changes the taste of what is fried in it.
