Passionfish - (Near Pacific Grove, CA)

Rhonda Allen Its Saturday and we made a reservation just in case. It was our first time so I thought better safe than sorry. We got our table quickly, by the bar. It was busy. Very quickly the bartender came over and asked what wed like to drink. My husband got a coke and I ordered a glass of Michael and David even though it was $10.50 a glass for a local wine. He came back fast with our drinks and the wine pour was good for the price. He asked if we were ready to order and we were so we got avacado fries, fish and shrimp plate, and filet minion dinner. The avacado fries came and my husband and I both LOVED them. They have jalapeño in them too, perfect heat and creamy goodness with a crunch thats satisfying for texture. I told my husband "If this is how good dinner is going to be, Im excited. " He agreed. Our dinners arrived and my steak was cooked perfectly, it came with delicious garlic potatoes and asparagus cooked well. I usually am unable to eat a whole plate and always try to get a 6oz steak because I can usually finish it, but did especially well on the 8oz tonight due to it being so good. I only had one bite left that I really wanted to eat lol. The mashed potatoes portion was substantially large compared to the meat so I wasnt able to finish those, but they were very good. My husbands fish plate had good sized shrimp, crispy/flakey fish, and a large portion of fries as well. My husband mentioned that his plate was a large size for the price and delicious. We regularly had servers asking us if we needed anything and could see they were ALL working hard individually but together to give all guests great service. I am DEFINITELY coming back here and am actually looking forward to bringing family and friends to enjoy as well. The atmosphere can be loud, as I said we were right next to the bar, but I imagine that can be rectified by a table selection if your looking for intimacy. The food can seem a bit pricey, but its delicious and service is great. Its a nice place but you dont need to dress up fancy. Its casual. Like nice casual. Dont wear sweats, wear jeans and a nice shirt. Or a cute dress.

Chethan B Exceptional experience! We were welcomed with champagne, caviar, and warm bread. The crab cake, prawn spaghetti, and Caramel Sunset were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A perfect blend of taste and elegance. Staff were very good and helpful—great service all around. Highly recommended!

Michael Sandler Love this place. Def a great a lot to come to when in San Diego. The food, the vibes, and they even have music at night. Great drinks and bites. Love coming here and Everytime I come here I have a good time. Highly recommend coming here any day of the week and seeing what all the talk is about.

Liza Thomas If you’re looking to book an event for a group of 25 or less, this is your spot. Erica was our host. She took care of all the details. She was consistent with her communication and went above and beyond to make our day special. The entire restaurant staff were so welcoming and helpful. Shoutout to Brie our wonderful bartender. The food is absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented and made with the freshest ingredients. We had the best time. Thank you to all of the Monkey Cat team for making our family celebration a wonderful experience.

Raegan Newman This was my first time here and it was a lovely experience. Edwin took care of me and he was exceptional. Very knowledgeable and attentive, but not overly attentive. I came in for lunch one day after an appointment and sat in the bar area and started with a lovely skinny jalapeño margarita which Edward made, and it was perfect. Nice and tart with the right amount of heat. I started with the bruschetta and I must say, the flavors of basil, garlic, and tomato and olive oil were just fabulous! I do like my toasted bread more crunchy though and with all the juicy tomatoes on top it soaked it up so maybe next time I’ll order the bruschetta in a bowl and the toast on the side. Then I have the salmon affimicato Ruffano on a bed of garlic spinach with a side of horseradish sauce and micro greens. The brown sugar was nice and caramelized, and it was a nice thick piece of meat, but one side was a little overdone and the other was a tiny bit underdone. Spinach was lovely and the micro greens were a nice touch with a squeeze of lemon on it. I must say though I could not taste any heat or any horseradish in the actual horseradish sauce. Atmosphere and ambience are absolutely lovely. Beautiful large outdoor patio with cozy little cabana type table seating along the side as well. Nice bar area with TVs and cozy booth seating and then a lovely interior of the restaurant. Valet parking in front. Prices are not too shabby for what you get. Will definitely be back!

Nayeli Stayed two days in the hotel and had several meals here. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of all meals. The servers where all friendly and helpful. The food was always amazing.
