El Rey Mexican Bar and Grill - Novato

Lannah S First time trying this place with my boyfriend and their food isn’t bad for this area but not the best Mexican food I’ve had. He ordered the green pozole and fish tacos. The pozole was decent and had a lot of spice. I ordered the potato taquitos(I don’t remember what called on menu but it was in the appetizers). The server was super nice and no complaints on his service but they somehow forgot or messed up my order and I waited at least 5- 10 min after my boyfriend already got his food and was eating. After being patient I finally asked the waiter and I guess they made it to go. When the food did come it tasted fine but I feel like it was rushed cause seemed to have been missing some items like sour cream. It was crunchy and fried like a taco. Probably won’t order from here again since my first time experience wasn’t the best. I’m sure they do the best they can but it’s not for me. For the area it’s in I think it fits well for that demographic. Also the booth seat I sat in was kinda torn up a bit as well which was a little disappointing since I was wearing a dress and could feel the plastic tears on my leg. They did have music playing from a dj set up which I did enjoy a lot while eating. Overall even though wasn’t a fan I give 4 stars only because of the music and the waiter’s kindness.

Mels Drive-In Hollywood - Los Angeles

Rating: 4.2 /5
bartika dutta Tucked near the Walk of Fame, this place delivers exactly what you hope for when you step into a classic diner – hearty portions, and that timeless charm that never tries too hard. The chocolate milkshake was thick, and crowned with the cherry-and-cream flourish. The avocado toast tasted fresh, and thoughtfully made. Add to that a lightning-fast , genuinely kind server, and a pup who felt just as welcome as we did, and you’ve got a spot that understands hospitality. The tables also have jukeboxes where you can drop in a coin, and listen to a song of your choice. And those candy-apple red leather chairs? Instant joy. They whisper stories of early mornings, and countless satisfied diners. Five stars also for the strangers who stopped to make our pup feel like a Hollywood A-lister.

The Alley - Mariposa

Niall Callan What a place, we were 2 brits looking for a few pints and some food. We stumbled across the Alley, Mary and Col were incredibly welcoming. They have a great selection of beers which you can try before you buy, as they will also recommend different options. They have a selection of pizzas which are really nice also. The Alley has a very local vibe and all of them are super friendly and welcoming. If in Mariposa a few beers and a pizza in this bar is a must.

Amigos Restaurant & Cantina - Visalia

Elizabeth Shaw Food was ok, delivery lady was extremely rude. They for some reason don’t take card if you pay at delivery and they interrupted a funeral service to make people scamper to find cash or they weren’t going to leave the food. They didn’t accept payment when I placed the order. They said they called me several times, which they didn’t. And there was no mention of having to pay in cash at delivery.

Red Hawk Resort + Casino - Placerville

Rating: 4.1 /5
Bizz2 Whi Red Hawk hits all the marks! Standard machines lower limit is much more reasonable than anything else around, and while its not really a HUGE casino, there are still 2 floors, smoking/non-smoking, KENO+VP sections, tables, a lively enviornment at times and a lax one at others. Ill even come here to do laptop work sometimes, when its not a Friday night or something. My only knocks on them are that, at times the luck seems manufactured and weirdly high or low for most people on the floor....thats frustrating and they Are tribal, so who knows there...and the other is the lack of outlets or charging options ANYWHERE, except the hallway to the hotel. SO YOU MUST BRING A POWER BANK Hotel itself is....not bad, very clean but minimal in my mind given the standard many casinos set with rooms. Its still nice though.great pool + spa, great food options, especially the buffet. Other mentions are phenomenal free transportation to and from other normal casinos and the bay area, and absolutely awesome customer-facing staff...seriously, great experiences all around with that portion. Also to be noted is this is only accessible by car or their shuttle service as it is directly on a freeway offramp dedicated to it. Final thought- redhawk is the casino in the area that, on the first visit - may not be your favorite because its not quite as flashy as some others, but youll have a great time still. And then after you have seen the other options, and come back, youll stick with it because literally every other facet is superior to anything else around. Apex too....forgot about apex....cool little area with the sickest go-kart track in the world, and great bowling, but an underwhelming arcade. Not much else to say there. Do the go karts at least once. Its expensive but worth it to be on that track
