Cold Water Brewery and Grill - South Lake Tahoe

Rating: 4.5 /5
Jamey Moss This is a pleasant brewpub and restaurant. They have outdoor seating for those perfect summer days and plenty of seating indoors. The burgers were good and the mahi mahi tacos were awesome. They have a great selection of their beers on tap, which were crisp and refreshing. The restaurant is a little pricey, but that’s life in South Lake Tahoe. There was plenty of parking when we stopped in for lunch.

Chuck Freeman This place offers it all of your a BBQ fan! The brisket, beans, corn bread and side Cesar salad was my choice today and Carla was my waitress. Very friendly and tentative. If you want Cheap BBQ, dont come here because good BBQ aint Cheap and and Cheap BBQ aint good. $40 for the LG brisket plate with mixed fat/lean with the premium side. Worth it!

howy zowy Great food, little bit behind on food service for a sunday. House brews and house fix drinks are great. Would recommend. Service with a smile would be great. Eye contact is 100% avoided if not your direct server/bartender.

Jward the Foodie This is the place to be. If you want some of the best soul food in the area this place has it all. The fried catfish, red, snapper, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, the health bar, cheesecake, the candy yams, fried shrimp, and so much more it’s so good and you will definitely leave there with a full stomach and a satisfied craving. All of their food comes out cooked to order and fresh. They give you good portions and it’s a lot. I’m definitely coming back with a lot of my friends. Go support the local soul food restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Foreigner Cafe - San Mateo

Rating: 4.4 /5
GlomadicLife This has been my go-to café in downtown San Mateo for years. I come here all the time — for casual breakfasts, coffee meetings, afternoon tea, and meeting new friends. It never disappoints. Coffee is consistently good. The turmeric latte is perfect during seasonal transitions, and their signature Yema Latte and Cuban coffee are always solid. Food-wise, I usually go for the spinach and mushroom quiche or the tomato basil quiche — simple, fluffy, and comforting. Desserts are great too. The chocolate coffee tart is a standout (rich and chocolaty with pistachio flakes), and the passion fruit tart is a crowd favorite. The space is cozy, warm, and inviting. Outdoor seating is dog-friendly with plenty of room, and the indoor area is always comfortable and beautiful. Service is consistently attentive and friendly, which makes it an easy place to linger. All in all, Foreigner is one of those reliable, feel-good spots you keep coming back to — whether it’s for a quiet coffee, a casual business chat, or a relaxed weekend brunch. Perfect for: coffee meetings, casual breakfasts, and a cozy neighborhood café you can always count on.
