Ambrose H Andre ( sp ?) took really good care of us. My partner has a dairy allergy, suggested to have the calamari made w/ just flour! (means the meals are made to order fresh! And made sure all the appys & her meal was dairy free. Phenomenal attention to detail! So good, came back a 2nd time before leaving LA! The Tagliolini on the wheel (off menu special) was 5⭐ (added mushrooms to it)

A & B Life Adventures My wife and I went to Larsen’s Grill located in Oxnard at the Collection to celebrate a special occasion. Larsen’s Grill was a fantastic experience and one of the best tasting food we have ever had in Ventura County. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. The signature drinks are a hit, they were delicious and perfectly prepared. A friend recommended the steaks from Larsen’s so we had to try them. I got the dry aged ribeye steak with the blue cheese steak topper and mushrooms with mac & cheese as a side. My wife got the wet aged New York Steak with Brussels sprouts as her side. The steaks were of excellent quality and tasted fantastic. The salads were also delicious, I recommend the wedge side salad and it was topped with the best tasting bacon. The restaurant has a great bar area with a live piano player. Overall the restaurant had a great vibe and the food was incredible. If you want to have an excellent dinning experience, I would highly recommend Larsen’s Grill in Oxnard at the Collection.

David Kagel Great Jazz, food and ambience. The seating is terrific as you arent crammed in like so many jazz clubs. The menu is quite large and we enjoyed all the salads and entrees. Pasta were particularly tasty. We were impressed that the owner was there and was very engaged and wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying the evening. And it is just a terrific spot to see Jazz. Every seat is great and the sound system very good. They book great acts. We were lucky enough to catch jazz great Jane Monheit who put on an incredible show. Her vocal range and extensive songbook were just stunning. Another great thing about Catalina is that they only have one show per night so they dont cut the entertainment short. You can really settle in and enjoy great music and food. Cant wait to catch more great shows in 2026!

Sharon We stopped by Amador County’s Shenandoah Valley to pick up our wines and were delighted to stumble upon The Taste — such a wonderful surprise! Chef Micha welcomed us with warmth and shared locally foraged end-of-season boletes — firm, rich with umami, and absolutely unforgettable. The venison, perfectly cooked and paired with chanterelles, was autumn on a plate. And the fig cream pie — with silky vanilla pudding, fresh figs, candied pecans, and fig purée — was the perfect sweet finale. Every detail reflected care, creativity, and the beauty of the season.

Aimee Connor After several recommendations, I finally made my way to Scott’s Seafood in San Jose—and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I arrived, everything about the experience was exceptional. The ambiance was spot on, beautifully decorated with an inviting atmosphere. For those who enjoy dining outside, the outdoor patio seating adds a lovely touch. Service was equally impressive. Hugo, my waiter, was attentive and knowledgeable, suggesting the almond-crusted New Zealand seabass—a choice that did not disappoint. To start, I had a cup of their Boston clam chowder, and let me say, it was one of the best I’ve had from coast to coast. Rich, flavorful, and comforting. I also decided to try their watermelon mojito mocktail, which was refreshing and delicious. Scott’s Seafood has truly earned a spot on my list of favorites, and I will definitely be returning! Highly recommended for seafood lovers and anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in San Jose.

Ralph G The appetizers were good and you could make a meal out of them and the sides. I liked the fried fish, anchovies and the meatballs with yogurt sause was great. I had the lamb chops which were excellent including the crispy potatoes and sauses. Wife had shrimp which she liked. We were in the larger group room which was a little noisy but they have outside seating and other rooms that are quieter. The service was great.
