EvangeliumDiSilenti Went here for dinner after a long day of driving to get to Monterey for a vacation. Our schedule for the day was running late and by the time we were able to go eat dinner we were exhausted. We were going to go on the Fishermans Wharf as the whole place is posted as "open till 10" on Google. But by the time we got to the restaurant where we wanted to go we found we walked all the way there and they were already closed. So we looked hard on the map to find a highly rated local place that served fish and chips and found The Crown & Anchor really close by, and theyre open late! We hurried down and were greeted by a friendly staff and sat immediately. We ordered their seafood sampler to split. Holy fish it was a huge plate of food! Definitely enough for 2-3 people. It was all cooked perfectly as well and delicious. The staff were all very quick and kind. The atmosphere inside is definitely welcoming and homey. They saved us from being disappointed and going to fast food or Dennys for the night. Thank you Crown & Anchor!

Christian Black Bear Diner is a reliable spot for classic American breakfast with generous portions and a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere. On my recent visit, I ordered the veggie omelet, which was fresh and packed with flavor. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, living up to the diners reputation for standout breakfast staples. The cinnamon roll French toast was a highlight—rich, sweet, and perfectly cooked, making it a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. While the food was consistently good across the board, the service during my visit had a hiccup. After switching up our drink orders, our server still brought the original drinks. This mix-up left a less-than-ideal impression; if there was any confusion, it would have been better for the server to clarify rather than get the order wrong. Attentive service is usually a strong point at Black Bear Diner, as many reviews praise the staff for being friendly and accommodating, so this may have been an off moment. Big thanks to Antonio for being so friendly and welcoming during our visit. It’s always awesome to meet someone who can make us laugh and feel at home—keep up the fantastic work, Antonio! You truly make a difference Overall, Black Bear Diner delivers on food quality and portion size, especially with breakfast favorites like omelets, pancakes, and unique French toast options. Service is typically good, but attention to detail with orders could be improved.

Blanca Fernandez My favorite place to eat, you could never go wrong. Everything they have here is right. The pokey nachos is my favorite along with the sliders.

Reese Paras Family and I live out of the area however SAFFRON is by far worth the drive! Not only do they have amazing food! Our server Sarb recommended new yummy dishes which will be on our list of favorites! Beautiful ambiance and great staff! Thank you! Thank you!

Sean Anderson This place is super cozy! We were able to get a seat for 2 for dinner without a reservation. The place had just the right amount of people chatting it up. The service was quick, the servers seemed happy, and the food was impeccable. I will concede that it was $36 for a chicken dinner, and I thought that was a little pricey, but it was honestly a really good meal and was worth the price. We got some of their fresh baked bread w/ butter and that was delicious, too.
