3 /5 J&R (Krishradha): A Hidden Gem with Breathtaking Views — But the Food Needs Work We recently visited the Redwoods and were hoping to cap off our day with dinner overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset. Being from the East Coast, this was a special treat for us. Unfortunately, since it was a Sunday, many restaurants in Crescent City were either closed or closing early. After checking multiple spots and facing long wait times, we reluctantly stopped at Seaside Restaurant and Bar, despite some of the reviews we had read. Let’s start with the good: the view is absolutely stunning — 5/5 without question. We sat inside by large windows that offered uninterrupted views of the ocean, and after dinner, we walked just a few steps outside to capture photos of the gorgeous sunset. The location is unbeatable for a romantic or scenic dining experience. Now for the not-so-great: the restaurant itself needs some work. Yes, the tables are sticky — but to be fair, it’s the coating meant to keep tablecloths from slipping, not a cleanliness issue. Still, it doesn’t make for the best first impression. The real letdown was the menu and food quality. The restaurant seems to be trying to offer too many types of cuisine — Mexican, Mongolian, and more — and unfortunately, none of it feels authentic or particularly well-made. Wed love to see them simplify the menu and lean into what makes sense for the area: fresh, local coastal dishes. A skilled chef with a focus on quality ingredients could truly transform this place. In short, the setting is incredible, but the food doesn’t live up to it — at least not yet. We truly hope someone sees the potential and gives this little seaside spot the attention it deserves.

1 /5 Peri Penman: Food was terrible, I got the curry special hardly any curry on it. No salt, almost flavorless. I was so disappointed. Everything was super overpriced. Also, I also got the clam chowder which other than being way too salty was palatable otherwise. Got a margarita on the rocks with salt around the rim. It was also awful and they forgot to put the salt on. For these three items it was over $57!! do not waste your time or your money The view of the ocean was nice unfortunately, the table was very sticky

5 /5 Craig Brophy: The restaurant is inside a hotel which usually is not my first choice for a restaurant but on a recommendation from my airbnb hosts i decided to give it a try. The location is great for catching and watching a sunset. They even have 2 picnic tables that you can eat at outside. Many beer and alcoholic beverages to choose from. Kind of a limited menu though. Decided to go with the fishermans mussels. Excellent
