Sizzler - (Near El Centro, CA)

3 /5 Charlie Kotcher: My daughter wanted a steak so we ended up here. Hadn’t eaten at Sizzler since I left the Bay Area in the mid 80s. First thing I noticed was the HEALTH CODE VIOLATION! The cashier grabbed the cups and scooped the ice into the cups thus contaminating the ice with her dirty money handling hands! I ordered the Crispy Bacon Burger well done with no sauce. But to no one’s surprise, the burger arrived with sauce! And it was a spicy sauce too! Yuck. I sent it back and then sat and watched my daughter eat while I waited for my food. My burger arrived in short order and while checking it for foreign matter, I noticed it had wilted lettuce and a sad slice of tomato. But the bacon, was in fact, crispy! After adding my mayo I took a bite. Damn! What a good tasting burger!! With wilted lettuce and all, it tasted really good and was cooked well done. What a pleasant surprise! The free bread was decent and my daughter thought her steak was excellent. However, she did mention that the mashed potatoes were just mediocre. Service was decent as the server filled up our water once. I was all set to give them one star but the taste of the burger and my daughter’s steak was excellent so I bumped it up two. I would definitely come back and let them try again to make a delicious meal on the first go around. And hopefully by then the manager will make sure they use the ice scoop that was next to the ice bin.

5 /5 Sandra Sommers: To be honest, some of the past reviews made us leary of trying Sizzler. Because it was within walking distance of our motel, we went. My husband and I are young seniors and I must say that, the fellow behind the counter explained how it worked, we decided on the salad bar idea which included a full delicious salad bar, fresh and any and every thing that you would want in a salad, delicious soup (we both had the broccoli cheese), fried chicken that was yummy and because we were totally full, we did not try the taco bar. But, to be honest, we had to try the brownies, the pound cake with strawberry and whipped cream. We have absolutely positive remarks and when talking to the manager for extreme compliments, she said we are working hard to overcome negative comments made in the past years. Well my husband and I have to say that they have succeeded.! Thank you for a lovely experience. PS: I ate too much! Sandra Summers Petaluma California

4 /5 P.E.C3454 Godisgood23: Awesome food never disappointed with Sizzlers. Its been over 25 years since Ive eaten at a Sizzlers. Service though was not good we had to get our own plates serval times. They refilled the soft drinks to only half way. Never came back to ask if we needed anything else. The manager was sitting in the booth next to us and he never said anything to his employers.

2 /5 Mrs. A: Food was ok but the server looked just mad and not wanting to be there. I understand we have jobs to survive and life is exhausting but if you work in customer service we at least have to put up a face to get good enough tips. I worked in restaurants most of my teenage years and yes, I hated it but never got a complain because I faked it until I made it!

1 /5 Deborah Sanchez: The food was terrible, the salad bar chicken and other hot foods were hard like they sat there all day. The steaks were tough and salty and the waitress gave us terrible service. If I want Sizzler again in the future Ill go out of town to get it. This place in El Centro, CA has gone down the toilet. Never again. 100 dollars lost on horrible food and service.
