Sobre Mesa - (Near Oakland, CA)

3 /5 Krissy D Wilson: We enjoyed the DJ and the music selections were amazing! Food was very limited...I think the kitchen was close to closing time... so we ordered off of the not main menu but the happy hour. Beef Empanadas and the stuffed Plantain which was yummy. We had 3 Caribbean Pineapple Old fashions and I am not a newbie to Old Fashions and have an understanding of mixology...When I say strong I mean strong. The flavor wasnt bad but the entire drink was a bit over powering for the palate. We did have some trouble with our waitress...maybe it was just a long night for her...but she didnt seem like she wanted to be there in all honesty. The ambience is very nice and the live music will probably be the reason we return... I suppose we could get there earlier and try the regular menu next time. Bathroom was acceptable and overall it was a good experience. Prices a bit steep but everything is steep these days especially in the area.

5 /5 Shweta Shanbhag: Great experience.. The drinks were great esp the Sobre Mesa. The tapas were good. We liked the warmed brioche, empanadas, goat cheese,adobo chicken pinchos. The service is great and the ambience and the decor is unique and we really enjoyed our evening here..

4 /5 Galen Brodsky: What a beautiful space to be in. The live DJ was wonderful. The food is tremendous the cocktails are adventurous and all is delicious. Every time Ive been here the staff is very sedulous so be patient and check your entitlement. I highly suggest making a reservation to enhance your dining experience. It was wonderful that happy hour was available all night. I would have loved more time with our server and engagement with the staff but I understand they are busy busy! Do yourself a favor and check this place out and come hungry!

The fashion was bold, creative, and inspiring—every look celebrated self-expression and community. The cocktails and food were delicious, and the staff made the night feel seamless and inclusive. This event was the perfect blend of glamour, culture, and Pride—an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait for the next one!
