Been’ there It’s a trip to a different era! It’s like time travel. Try the fish tacos with the orange habanero and the pico from the salsa bar. You can translate Manana to Banana anchovies you will have your moment in time. They have a bar too if you like drinks.

MOncat One of my favorite places in the city. Everything but the roasted chicken/fried rice is outstanding (they don’t have a big menu). The roasted chicken and fried rice are average. Their price has increased by 20-30 percent compared to about two years ago. So sad that inflation got to this little neighborhood restaurant too. Highly recommend their spicy chili sauce, it makes everything better. For this particular location, there’s probably not a good ventilation system so you might walk out smell like the smoke from cooking. Their other location on clement st has better air. Will still come back in the future.

Shootz - Ontario

Rating: 4.7 /5
Jward the Foodie Shootz masterfully marries Hawaiian comfort with contemporary zest. If you’re craving bold, buttery, crispy flavors with creative spins—like kimchi butter-kissed katsu, brûlée musubi heaven, or refreshing lemonade pairings—this spot delivers. Ideal for a flavorful solo lunch or a casual hangout with friends at the food hall—you’ll likely leave full, satisfied, and planning a return. A perfectly crispy fried chicken thigh, basted in luscious kimchi butter, topped with scallions and furikake—satisfying with a balance of savory comfort and tangy spice. Loved by locals and out-of-towners alike. A combo of the katsu chicken and shrimp, both dressed in that signature kimchi butter—great for variety or sharing with a friend. Jumbo crispy shrimp drenched in the same addictive kimchi butter—light, crunchy, and full of personality.
