Taqueria El Guero - (Near San Luis Obispo, CA)

5 /5 Gordon M.: First and foremost, the food is really good... The queda birria was juicy, rich, fatty, cheesy, and seasoned heavily even without the delicious side of consume. It was a hearty portion even for a giant like me and the house made pickled veg is another nice touch. The rice and beans are delicious as well, rich, soft, and probably some good fat in the refried beans. The drink selection is nice too with beer, wine, and my choice, horchata, which I filled with the fountain after it was gone (try the leftover horchata with some diet coke, so good). The place was busy, friendly, and well ran with music that matches the energetic vibe but was maybe a touch too loud for someone trying to chat (I was not). Im often torn on how to reflect pricing in reviews. The bottom line is Taqueria El Guero is at the top most end of Taqueria prices youll encounter in the entire area, and while the food was good, there are many places as good across the central coast. I see the prices up front, theyre right there, and I can either accept or balk, so I tend not to really let it impact the score unless I feel gouged. Only on the side of rice and beans did I get close to feeling gouged due to their small portion, however with some consume poured on them I didnt mind their $6 little dish. Ill probably be back for more quesa birria, and that warrants 5 stars for making some dang good food.

5 /5 Caty Wagner: I had nachos and my partner had chicken tacos and they were really good. I had them to go and it took maybe 10-15 minutes to get home and the chips stayed crunchy. The ratio of chips to stuff on them was good. Good flavor. Spicy but not too hot. Fresh cilantro and lime

5 /5 Sebliminal: Best Mexican food i have ever had in my life. Is it a little overpriced? Yes definitely, but the food is genuinely so delicious it makes me forget the price tag there are many Mexican places here in town and Ive never been to one better than here. If your looking for some Mexican food either being a tourist or a local COME HERE. (Get the taco plate and make sure ALL the meat inside is asada trust me on this)

5 /5 Tony Ramos III: Great place! I dream about these tacos. A little expensive but probably the best tasting taco in town. There’s a fresh tortilla and really good salsa and nicely diced onion. The carnitas are juicy and awesome. Birria is so good but doesn’t have cheese in it anymore. Anyway, come here and support these guys especially if you like amazing tacos!

5 /5 Rex Briggs: I have food allergies and Oscar hooked me up by knowing they use canola oil, and setting up my order without dairy and gluten. I went with the Carne Asada taco plate. Corn tortillas were warm and tasty and meat even better! Wonderful seasoning with the green and red salsa. Loved it!
