Old Town Mexican Cafe - San Diego

Rodney Regala Almost like a spot across the border without going into Mexico. Freshly made tortillas made and you can watch them make. Margaritas were kinda too good so beware! Food is always great and staff were nice. Great spot to take visitors!

Chez Maman East - San Francisco

Julia Vega I stopped by on my trip to SF and it did not disappoint! My server Roberto provided excellent customer service. I tried the escargot, mussels in white wine, potatoes au gratin, affagato, white wine and chocolate cake. Everything was so flavorful and you can really taste the fresh quality ingredients. This place also has a great view of the city.

Nomadic Kitchen - Redwood City

Mikaele Keni Those Stellar ratings... I see what the hype is all about. I was a bit skeptical about the stellar ratings. It looks like it was earned justifiably so... We walked past here a couple times and thought we should give this place a try. Well this was the weekend it happened. Nomadic Kitchen is a Turkish restaurant churning out some tasty food. A mid size fast causal small business with a decent amount of seating inside. Its in downtown RWC, so embrace the challenge of parking. lol #TurkishEats: ~ MEZZE: Mezze Combination - 4.5/5 Just about everything was excellent. I could have sworn we ordered the smaller of the two combination, but we end up getting the bigger combination. Oh well, no complaints. We got to try a goo a majority of the messie menu. ~ PIDES: Nomadic Pide - 5/5 Apparently according to comments from my fellow Yelpers, this was a must try it. So we gave it a try, absolutely no regrets; like a fancy craft Pizza / Flatbread. Best way I can describe it, since I dont know what a Pide is...delish! ~ ENTREES: Kofte kebab - 5/5 This was one of the best kabobs Ive had stateside in a while. The meat was tender and full of flavor. The Entrees come with rice, salad and a basket of bread. Unbeatable value for some delish food. ~ basket of bread - 4.5/5 delish! I think this is made in house, and if it isnt I want to know where they buy the bread! Ill be a regular there... Service was good, all the food came out at a decent time. We got a chance to me Hasan, the owner and chef. Nice guy, very friendly. Great experience... Ill definitely be back!

Las Islitas Ostioneria - Woodland

Rating: 4 /5
Mohammed Iqbal Saleem ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem for Fresh, Flavor-Packed Mariscos! Las Islitas Ostionería is hands-down one of the best spots around for authentic Mexican seafood. If youre a fan of mariscos done right — bold, fresh, and loaded with flavor — this place should be at the top of your list. The vibe is casual and welcoming, with a strong local feel that makes you feel like you’re in on a delicious secret. The décor has a coastal charm, with nautical touches that match the seafood-heavy menu. It’s perfect for a laid-back lunch, family dinner, or weekend seafood feast. Now, the food — absolutely stellar. I ordered the aguachile verde, tostadas de ceviche de camarón, and the molcajete mixto, and each dish blew me away. The aguachile had just the right amount of heat, with super fresh shrimp and crisp cucumber slices soaking in a tangy, spicy marinade. The ceviche tostadas were packed high with flavor and had that ideal balance of lime, onion, and seafood. The molcajete came sizzling hot and loaded with shrimp, octopus, and other seafood treasures — it’s a must-try if you’re really hungry or sharing with someone. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. Service was quick, and everything came out fresh. I also appreciated how clean and organized the place was, which is always a big plus when it comes to seafood spots. Prices are more than fair for the portion sizes and freshness. You definitely get quality here — both in ingredients and preparation. Whether youre a mariscos veteran or trying Mexican seafood for the first time, Las Islitas delivers a memorable, flavor-packed experience. Highly recommend it if you’re craving seafood with serious flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back!
