Zen Toro Japanese Bistro -Food CA (Near Davis)

5 /5 Kenneth: Zen Toro in Davis is hands down one of the best Japanese spots in town. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and calm --the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy good food, and never feel rushed. The fish is always fresh and the rolls are beautifully made. You can tell they put care into every dish they send out. Their specialty rolls are amazing, but even the basics are done well -- the miso, tempura, and sashimi all hit the spot. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the meal always feels satisfying from start to finish. Service is friendly and attentive without being pushy, which just adds to the overall experience. Whether youre in the mood for sushi, udon, or a comforting combo plate, Zen Toro delivers every time. Highly recommended - definitely a 5-star spot in Davis!!

2 /5 Vixen Gal: Unfortunately we aren’t sure what happened if it was our driver or the restaurant! The rolls were not rolled properly and the chicken had a ton of oil and all of our food was touching each other and thrashed around. We always order from here both online and in person and definitely this has made us a little weary as it leaked all over the place. Really sad as their staff is very nice and the food is great! They also forgot our miso soup in our online order ):

5 /5 Sunshine: This place has really good sushi and is a little hidden off the street. Food was excellent and service was great. The combo for 2 is a huge portion enough for 3 maybe

5 /5 pinto: sushi combo A is sooo worth it for the price ($46?), you get so much!! the food is delicious and it isnt too long of a wait. I dont know if its listed on the menu but we were provided with miso soup while waiting for the rest of our courses. this place is tucked away so I didnt know about it for a while, but Im really glad I was able to give it a try. (delayed post, visit was october 2025)

5 /5 Pablo Ponce Hernandez: Cozy spot with great ramen at a reasonable price. The service was great and the music and atmosphere was better than most places. I would come back and even recommend to others :)
