5 /5 Anne Amor: American Icon Brewing in Vero Beach is one of those places where the building alone already has your attention. Set in a historic power plant, it keeps the original industrial bones intact—high ceilings, natural light, and history on the walls to remind you this place existed long before craft beer was involved.
A real win here is the space. Actual space. Inside, outside, grass you can walk on, air you can breathe. It’s refreshing to not be wedged into yet another strip mall where parking is a competitive sport. You can grab a beer, wander a bit, sit outside, or toss a bean bag like it’s a casual suggestion rather than an organized event. It weirdly reminded me of Minnesota—in the best way—where places had room to exist without shouting over traffic and neighboring businesses.
The vibe is relaxed without trying too hard, the beer is solid, there’s a full kitchen, and you can enjoy all of it without feeling rushed or overstimulated. Bonus points for being dog-friendly—bringing Ellie along was a win, and she seemed perfectly content soaking in the scene.
Also, as a Harley rider, the “motorcycle parking” sign did not go unnoticed. Small detail, but appreciated.
Overall, it’s a place that lets you hang out instead of herding you in and out, which feels increasingly rare.
