Lacey Harrison Had dinner here with a friend this week and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly server, hope she is there when I come back again, she felt like an old friend (cant remember her name-brunette, pretty, American). The food arrived fast and was yummy. My friend and I ordered the crab rangoon appetizer which arrived super fast, and it was delicious. Also, the ginger salad dressing is 10/10 definitely recommend. Very creamy and fresh tasting. We both had the filet mignon and chicken hibachi combo with vegetables for our entree and it, too, was tasty and fabulous. Cooked just right. Yum yum sauce was on point. Fyi, they do not cook the food in front of you and do that whole entertainment cooking thing, which is fine by me, because sometimes, you dont want to play along, and you just want to chat with your fellow dinner guests you came with, and catch up. The portions were huge. I left so full, and still had lunch leftovers for the next 2 days, so you definitely get plenty of bang for your buck. I am planning to try their sushi on my next visit, so I cant review that yet. I can tell you that their hibachi is definitely a star, in my opinion! I plan to be back within the next week to try some sushi, even if its just a to go order. Thanks Yamoto!

Lexxy Corsello Murphy We had an amazing dinner here tonight. Ronaldo was a great server. The Humboldt Fog goat cheese stole the show! Great food, fun people watching and the manager, Jessica, made sure everything went well for us. I highly recommend this place.

EpaVision Productions Studios Wonderful place right on the beach. The Funky Pelican, a popular beachfront restaurant at the Flagler Beach Pier, opened in January 2013 under owner Raymond Barshay, replacing the dilapidated Pier Restaurant with extensive renovations and a fun, beachy vibe, featuring local seafood and ocean views, and became known for its unique sidewalk chalkboard that grew from a construction quirk into a beloved community feature for messages and art, with the business recently extending its city lease through 2057 amidst pier reconstruction. Origins & Opening Location: The restaurant sits on the iconic Flagler Beach Pier in Flagler Beach, Florida. Lease & Renovation: Raymond Barshay secured a long-term lease from the city and undertook major renovations of the building, which dated back to 1964, to create the new establishment. Debut: It officially opened its doors in January 2013, drawing large crowds and local excitement. The Famous Chalkboard Discovery: During renovations, construction paper on the front walls created a unique texture where people could write messages with pebbles. Community Feature: Rather than stop it, management embraced the trend, got city permission for a public chalkboard, and have maintained it as a living mural for community notes, birthdays, and memorial messages. Recent Developments Pier Reconstruction: The Funky Pelican continues to operate while the adjacent Flagler Beach Pier undergoes significant rebuilding after hurricane damage. Lease Extension: In late 2025, the restaurant extended its lease with the city through 2057, contingent on exterior renovations to match the new piers aesthetic. Vibe The Funky Pelican offers panoramic ocean views, local seafood, and a "funky," relaxed atmosphere that fits the unique vibe of Flagler Beach.

Ashley Marie The staff was absolutely amazing, drinks are all wonderful (please try their seasonal selection!), and the food was even better. Visited with 3 girl friends as our Friendsgiving from Miami & it was totally worth the trip. Can’t wait to go back!

Mermazing Nutrition Herbalife We celebrated a birthday at Flames last night and had such a wonderful experience! Our large table started with delicious hummus, and I enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet skewer while everyone else loved their meals too. The atmosphere was fabulous—the room was beautifully decorated with stunning paintings, and the vibe was warm and inviting. The belly dancer was absolutely adorable and added such a fun, lively touch to the evening. Overall, Flames was fantastic—great food, beautiful ambiance, and a memorable night. We’ll definitely be back!

Himatee J. Patel We had a truly phenomenal meal here. The service is attentive and wonderful. The food is delicious and wide ranging in choice. The food is fresh and flavorful. The naan and curries were amazing. The chicken was great quality and tender. Not one dish was over spiced or excessively oily as many Indian restaurants get wrong. The desserts were truly delicious and memorable. We wanted to lick our plates.
