Charlie Horse - (Near Ocala, FL)

4 /5 Anastasio Ojeda: We were able to sit wherever we liked, which was nice. Our drink orders were taken right away. Waitress was friendly and attentive. My wife really enjoyed her Patty melt and potato salad. I ordered the fish & chips. I was satisfied and disappointed at the same time. Satisfied with the amount of steak fries served. Most places serve so little fries. One would think potatoes were hard to find. Disappointed in the portion of fish. I use fish & chips (or burgers) to test every new place I eat at. I figure if the more complicated meals arent that good, I could at least fall back on fish & chips or a cheese burger. This was probably the smallest portion of fish I ever had, and Ive eaten fish & chips at many places. Overall, I would like to return and try other menu options. The beer is nice and cold, and I liked the service and atmosphere. Just need to work on that portion a bit.

5 /5 Scott Leland: Music was great and other people sang as well it was a Thursday night it was last Thursday we were starving it was 945 pm everywhere we went was closed or closing we were exhausted from a long day and evening did not want to finally get home and start cooking then clean we were done so I said we will swing by and see if they are still open we were ready for them to be closed swung into their private customers parking lot and bamm their were cars people still in outdoor dining area also still people in both other dining areas on the Blvd side the staff said come on in!!!!! Music going people eating and singing staff running around cheerful and pleasant in 5 minutes our order was in and we were in a happy environment and it thrilled us

5 /5 Sharon Grant: My first time going to Charlie Horse. I had a blast! Great band in one area..I danced and sung karaoke in another area. Very small dance area but me and the others that danced made it work.

3 /5 Sponge Bob: We visited Charlie Horse for lunch on a weekday in February 2025. It was our first visit to this establishment. I expected more of a restaurant that has a bar and such. In reality, it’s more of a bar that serves food. It was just not what I was expecting. Upon entering, the place was extremely dark in most areas. We were told to seat ourselves and picked the only fairly well lit area of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and we had not complaints. We ordered lunch which arrived fairly quickly. The wife thought her meal was alright, but not outstanding. I on the other hand only ordered wings. I had read in past reviews how they were good, so I tried them. They were not cheap at $15. But not overly expensive either. But here’s the problem. They sucked. They had no flavor what so ever. They were kind of dry and there was no flavor. I’m not sure if the grease they fry them in, does this. But even the sauce had no flavor. Thank god for blue cheese, to give them any flavor. I even asked for more sauce incase they forgot to apply it. I poured sauce all over the wings, but no change. I ate about half of them and had had enough. Absolutely terrible. Ironically, the guy sitting at the next table overheard me ordering more sauce and commented on how he also ordered wings and how bad his were as well. So it wasn’t just me. I didn’t even take the rest home, as they would not be eaten. I gave Charlie Horse a three star rating, because the wife had food was just okay. But I didn’t find anything about Charlie Horse appealing enough to make me want to go back. I guess if maybe I just wanted a beer, since it is a bar. But I found nothing appealing about Charlie Horse to give them a second try.
