Columbia Cafe at the Tampa Bay History Center - (Near Tampa, FL)

5 /5 Mind Set On Travel: Can’t say enough about the Columbian Cafe at the Tampa Bay History Center. Based on the original Columbian Resturant in Ybor City, this location has both inside and outside (with heaters in winter time). Bars in both areas happy to serve you while waiting for your table. Highly suggest getting the red or white Sangria and the 1905 Salad which is made table side. The Cuban is a must have while the Chicken Dishes are plenty full. Stop by the gift store.

5 /5 Julie: Great restaurant! The food is delicious, the service is impressive, and the atmosphere/environment is very comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend the 1905 salad- it was delicious and I understand the hype. We dined in for dinner but also packed some food to go for family members who didn’t come with us. We were concerned about the food because one of our family members has a nut allergy. The manager herself came out to speak with us to assure us that the food was nut free and that we should not be worried. We greatly appreciated that reassurance!

2 /5 Dragon Fly: Server took really long to come yo the table, didn’t do a presentation or history of the place, she was just an order taker. Give me my coffee spoon grabbing it by the tip and bowl of the spoon instead of the handle. My friends wine glass had water stains… Server didn’t upsell . Server only check once on us. I may try again for a different dish on a different night. Not putting my hopes up tho.

4 /5 Isabelle Prak: Best welcome ever with the hot 1/4 baguette and butter. Cuban sandwich with generous meat but my favorite one is the pork sandwich.

3 /5 Dave: TL; DR - 3 stars from a vegetarian perspective. Otherwise, 4+ for meat eaters. So, lets start with the food. Im a vegetarian Chad, and they had some veggie stuff, but only 1 veggie entree from what I saw besides salad. Eggplant. The thing is, it wasnt bad eggplant, right? It really wasnt. But, they give you a ton of what I would say is just alright eggplant. Again, not bad, but with the view and atmosphere it felt like it should have been high-tier eggplant. Class A eggplant. What I had I would consider Class C eggplant. My one gf had Yellow Rice with Chicken and she said it wasnt bad. She mentioned the chicken was kinda dry and the rice overly mushey, but I had some of her rice and it was very good. We also had an appetizer, I think they were bean cakes. They came out late though (same time as our entrees) so we didnt really get a chance to enjoy them as much. Those were somewhat lukewarm, meaning they werent hot but werent also cold. I will say though they did give us each a nice and warm bread. That was very good and now since I think about it that alone can count as an appetizer. It was delicious! Finally, my one gf had 2 drinks, a Sangria and a wine. She said the sangria was watered down while she did enjoy the wine. So, tbh everything wasnt bad. The vibes were great (we sat outside; pretty view), good music, staff were friendly, right? Just the lack of vegetarian options for an entree and the appetizer coming out basically the same time as our din din is why I decided to go with 3 stars. If I was a meat eater, Im sure I would have given at least 4 stars. Looked like they had lots of solid options.
