5 /5 Garrett Krause: What can I say about this place to do it justice? First off, when you call a German restaurant and the person who answers the phone has a German accent... you know its going to be an authentic experience!!
Heidi, the owner of the restaurant, greeted us at the door and was also our server. The place is small, but cozy and the staff friendly. We started off with waters and a pretzel. The pretzel was perfect, slightly salted, and came with a side of warm beer cheese.
For dinner I wanted the Sauerbraten meal, but Heidi talked me out of it! Instead, she suggested I get the Bavarian Plate, as it has the Sauerbraten plus pork and a nuernberger bratwurst-which is their homemade brat made using a traditional nuernberg recipe. I chose spaetzel and red cabbage as my sides. I started with the Liver dumpling soup. It was the most flavorful soup Ive ever tasted, the broth was a deep rich beef base and the dumpling was delicious, a perfect size.
There were 4 of us that ordered, and Heidi made sure that we got what we wanted, with some really good suggestions sprinkled in.
The food came out within 15 minutes of ordering, and to be fair, I would have easily waited an hour for how good it was! I dont think any of us spoke much until we were done eating it was that yummy.
There were some homemade desserts and I really wanted the apple streudel but I was just too full! We plan on returning soon to get the pork shank. The pork shank you have to order 3 days in advance- cant wait! Until then, Prost!
