3 /5 Shawna Mahmood: We started with the chips, guacamole, and cheese dip, and right away it set the tone. The dips were cool and thick, but the chips were a total letdown…stale, heavy, and just plain lifeless. Fresh, crisp chips would’ve made all the difference, but these fell flat.
For the main course, I tried the carne sope, and unfortunately, it didn’t redeem the experience. The asada had no depth of flavor..it was chopped so small it felt more like ground beef than a proper cut. Definitely underwhelming for something that should’ve been the star of the plate.
The atmosphere didn’t help either. Staff in the back were loud enough to distract from the meal, and while the service wasn’t outright rude, it was curt and gave the impression that our being there was more of an inconvenience than anything else.
Overall, the food lacked flavor, the chips lacked freshness, and the service lacked warmth. Not the kind of spot I’d be excited to revisit.
