Liberty Bar and Restaurant - (Near Tallahassee, FL)

RichieNY Our first time at Ovation did not let us down. We decided to go with 4 appetizers: Loaded baked potato skins w/brisket was a solid 5 as were the crab cakes. The Shrimp were a pleasant surprise as they are still serving Jumbo Shrimp when other establishments are cutting back to small or medium Shrimp, Im going with a 4 on the Shrimp, the breading was pretty heavy for my personal taste. The smoked wings were unfortunately over smoked which led to them having a bitter taste, i do smoke lots of wings at home and its a delicate dance as to how much time to leave wings in a smoker and which wood to use (I always use cherry wood) but wings take on smoke very quickly and you gotta find the balance as I have definitely over smoked some at home myself, Im going with a 3 on the wings. I will be trying the fried option on the next visit for sure. Pricing is all relative, there were no small portions so I thought it was worth the money!!! I will be visiting Ovation again!!

Khai Huynh I’ve been here a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. Their flatbreads are fantastic and I highly recommend them, you cannot go wrong with any of them. I really enjoyed the Cedar Plank Roasted Salmon and of course their wood grilled filet mignon and truffle risotto were also amazing. Joel provided us with excellent service throughout our meal we will be recommending him to our friends and family.

Nicole Vogt Wow! Wow! Wow! This place was sooo good! The goat cheese croquettes with guava were spectacular! Im going to be dreaming of those for awhile. The snapper with coconut cream curry and baby squash were delicious. And the key lime pie was the perfect way to end the meal. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. I sat outside and enjoyed a breezy evening, but they have interior seating as well. Highly recommend this spot if youre enjoying the beach or just visiting the area.

Jasper Dubé Best chicken in the south. Absolutely zero contention. Great chicken, incredible fries mostly thanks to its seasoning which must be worth its weight in gold, and the zax sauce never gets old. Whenever Im in town, this place is always on my mind. Wish there was one in Miami.

Julie Bell Dillon took great care of us. He had great recommendations that we will try the next time we are in the area. We informed him that we are splitting what we order and the kitchen took care of split plating for us. The Geisha drink: WOW I want another one just thinking about it. This tastes just like a beautiful flower smells. I highly recommend. Not too sweet is a bonus. Waterfront cooler: i feel like anything with St Germain in it will be delicious. Very refreshing drink. Pink Flamingo: this one surprisingly tasted like Christmas to us. Its not too sweet as well. It was good, I just would opt to try a different option rather than reordering. Moroccan Cigars: very unique appetizer. We would try this one again but we must try the Steamed Clams or Mussles next time. The table behind us ordered this and it looked interesting. It was also highly recommended by Dillon. Lobster Bisque: I did like that there were large lobster pieces in this. However, it seemed almost as if it was a tomato soup. We have had a better Bisque in Fort Meyers. Caribbean Snapper- very light and settle. My husband and I enjoy a snapper. My husband would order this again. Whereas I would not. I prefer robust flavors and seasonings. He prefers settle seasonings. The ambiance is absolutely amazing here. We stayed until sunset. It did not get loud in this restaurant at all. A Wednesday night, so it was not too busy or crowded. A Riverwalk pathway is right behind the restaurant. Very upkept, clean, well lit, and safe. I highly suggest to walk it both ways after your dinner. A beautiful touch to a wonderful date night.

Teresa Gilland The real star of dinner wasn’t the food. It was our server, Darian. She alone, gets 5/5 ⭐️!! She is sweet, funny, and personable! As a local business owner, GOOD workers are hard to find! She kept our drinks full, table entertained, and out food was perfect!. She turned a normal dinner out into something we truly enjoyed! We will definitely be back, and we will be asking to be seated with Darian from now on! Thanks for being a rockstar!!
