Lona Cocina Tequileria - (Near Fort Lauderdale, FL)

3 /5 Marshall Can: Beach patio has gorgeous views but the live dj plays music that is exceedingly loud!!! Dining inside isnt as beachy but its much quieter and the decor is well done. Came for the endless brunch and cocktail which is a buffet/fixed menu. The food is awesome. No complaints about the food. The decor is nicely done and enjoyable. My main critique is the service: overall the servers (there were 2), were great, friendly and present. My disappointment was when I requested tequila for the Bloody Mary (bloody maria). Without pleasantries and without asking the bartender, the server plainly said NO. And I was surprised because the menu consisted of endless margaritas (tequila!!!) and bloody Marys. Did it really truly matter whether the tequila was used for a margarita or a bloody mary?!?! Its just odd that I was not allowed to get the drink and equally odd that the server didnt put on a happy face and "ask the bartender". Will I go back? Sure. And yes id recommend Lona to others. Just hope service picks up because this is truly odd. Ft Lauderdale has plenty of dining options who gladly make bloody Marias for the same/equal value of a bloody mary.

5 /5 Adam Hatch: Great Mexican food and atmosphere right along the beach. I had Jorge’s Lobster Quesadilla and it was fantastic. It was a hearty portion so I made two meals out of it. Make sure to request an extra side of chipotle aioli. It was fire!

4 /5 DB Rosey: We got to the restaurant at 1130 on a Saturday morning and they were able to seat us (party of 11) with no issues. We had to wait until noon to order off the lunch menu, otherwise there is a small, transitional menu to order from between breakfast and the time they begin serving lunch, which is at 12pm. The service was not good. It was busy, but not to the point there were people waiting to get seated. From the time we ordered our food until our food arrived was over 60 minutes. After our food arrived, our server was non-existent until we were finished. No drink refills, no additional chips for the queso app we ordered. We had to ask for napkins. It was not good. The positives - The food itself was great! I ordered the carnitas tacos and they were wonderful. The queso was also good, but I don’t think I would order it again. The location is great with views of the ocean. I would return and give the service another shot. (Of note, they could not provide our party with multiple checks but said they could take up to three methods of payment)

5 /5 Mark D: We ate dinner and breakfast here. At dinner we had the shrimp tacos and the al pastor tacos, guacamole, chips & salsa, and the fried plantains. Everything was really good and fresh. Breakfast was two eggs over easy with thick cut bacon sourdough toast and a side off fruit. Once again Everything was really good and fresh. Dinner was a 7:30 pm and was busy, but no waiting for outside seating. Breakfast was at 7:15 am and not busy on Sunday at all. We got seated and served immediately! Would eat here again when were in the area.

5 /5 Michael Ocasio: Excellent Mexican food. The crab lump meat guacamole was delicious. Not expensive. Fair prices considering you sit right across ft Lauderdale Beach. Excellent view sitting outside. Great drinks as well Sangria was a hit. Waitress showed excellent service. Definitely would eat here again.
