5 /5 Alex Bussler: I finally got a chance to try out Magic Flavor and was more than happy with my choice.
Upon entering, I was promptly greeted by a young lady at the front counter. I mentioned it was my first time here since they had opened, and she was happy to provide a little sampler place consisting of rice, tzatziki sauce, chicken, pork, meatballs, beef, and barbacoa. Though everything was amazing, my heart was set on trying their gyros especially since she stated the meat was cooked on a spit in the back, so I placed an order for the combo with fries and a drink. It came out to be a fair $20 including tax and tip. Most of their offerings consist of building a bowl similar to popular fast casual Mexican-American business, but the quality here is more than a step up for similar pricing and better service.
The gyro was stuffed with meat, fresh veggies, and above all: more tzatziki. Id go as far as to say its the best Ive ever had with its consistency and flavor. The pieces of cucumber in the gyro itself helped to had texture and enhanced the flavor as well. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and paired nicely with the Heinz on the table.
Impressed with the meal itself, I opted to purchase a piece of fresh baklava afterward. It blended crispy with savory and sweet for a perfect match.
The place itself is a little quaint spot located on the edge of town, but dont let that fool you. There was plenty of space here, so seating shouldnt be a problem unless you catch a rush. For those interested, the employee said they can also handle large orders too! Green Cove should be happy to have another amazing spot that provides a different option from the norm.
Give this place a try!
