Polo Steak and Sea - (Near Vero Beach, FL)

3 /5 Martha: We made reservations for our anniversary dinner only to be told that we have to sit outside. Please specify that on the reservation. If theres a strict dress code, disclose that on your website so people from out of town are in the know. The host saw my dress but apparently because I had my arms out and open toe heels, we couldnt sit inside. This place is not that upscale to do that. Youre on the beach for crying out loud! At least Jacob our waiter was very kind and attentive. He and he alone gets the 5 stars. On to the food. We ordered the steak bites and that was amazing. The cheese and crackers they give you were pretty good too. The crackers could do without the seasoning (it was too much). I ordered the fish special. It lacked flavor, it was chewy and the rice was cold. My husband ordered the duck. I tried that and it was tasty. But his mashed potatoes were cold too. I dont get how these kitchens just put out cold food. I get you have to prep early but there are plenty of ways to get your food out hot and on time to your guests to enjoy. On to the atmosphere. Since we sat outside,it gave lunch time vibes. Theres no music out there. Adding a some music, maybe some art on easels would elevate the outdoor dining experience.

5 /5 J Georges: My hubby and I celebrated my birthday at Polo Steak and Sea last night. It was by far the best dinner weve had in Vero. We had a quiet table in the back. Our server, Chris, was phenomenal. He was attentive, made great suggestions and let us take our time. The manager, Steven, checked in on us several times. Their new sommeliar, Ackee, was very helfpul in choosing a wine that would complement both of our meals. The food was fantastic. I started with the lobster bisque, which was delicious. Hubby started with sashimi trio. He thoroughly enjoyed his prime New York Strip which was cooked to perfection. I dont eat meat, but did have a bite of his truffled mashed potatoes which were the best mashed potatoes Ive ever had. I had the seafood pasta which was also phenomenal. The lobster was a little tricky to get out of the shell, but the sauce was so good that I licked my fingers clean since we were at a table in the back ;-). Great atmoshphere, delicious food, wonderfully attentive staff. Weve found our favorite restaurant in Vero!

5 /5 JoElaine: Went to Polo Steak & Sea for Christmas Eve dinner. It did not disappoint . The food was delicious and loved the atmosphere. But may I add our server Urs was exceptional . We will be definitely coming back and asking Urs to be our server. Highly recommend....

1 /5 Chris Vick: My wife and family have gone here for years. Many times ordering our favorites. However something has changed since we were last there. The Ahi Tuna Stack had brown avocado and the lowest grade Tuna weve ever tried to eat. It was fatty and tough. My wifes steak should have been called the Hindenburg as it was so charred on the outside. My Seafood Fra Diablo was a joke. Ive had crayfish larger than the Lobster, the shrimp were overcooked and dry. They should look for a new chef. Too pricey for a bad meal.

5 /5 Kris Murphy: We arrived early and hung out at Sailfish next door before they opened. The outside area is vast and comfortable, but we decided to eat inside on this occasion. It was our first visit to this establishment on our "Tour de Vero", and they certainly pleased. This is a high-end restaurant with excellent service and the patience of saints. The wine list and bar are quite impressive, but we came for food instead. We tried the sushi and fish special; we were wowed. The pasta was made perfectly, and the seafood was exceptionally fresh - Im picky about seafood. Parking is free, and the beach is right across the street. Vero Beach has many good restaurants, and this is undoubtedly one of the best. The price was reasonable, but if you order high-end food, expect to pay for excellence.
