4 /5 Mickayla Bates: The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was beautiful—definitely a great vibe. The food tasted great, especially the oxtails, but I did feel the portion was a bit small for the price. There was more bone than meat, not much sauce, and the rice came out a bit cold. With a few tweaks, this could be a fantastic dining experience.

5 /5 Anna Rod: My boyfriend and I found sugar and spice while out of town meandering. We live in Melbourne. This place had me sold at soul food restaurant, what a treat it was! The food was delicous, the staff and I assume owner were beyond friendly. I loved the cozy atmoshphere and music playing. The portions are very generous so be sure to come hungry! We will surely be back. Make sure to get their homeade punch you wont regret it!

5 /5 Jon KeL: I’ve been to Sugar and Spice a few times for lunch and have always enjoyed the experience, but this was my first time stopping in for dinner. I decided to try the meatloaf—comfort food at its finest—and I wasn’t disappointed. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and had that homemade quality that makes you feel like you’re sitting at grandma’s table. However, I did notice one small issue with the meal: the portion of sides compared to the generous serving of meatloaf. Don’t get me wrong, the meatloaf was filling and delicious, but it felt like I had enough left over to make a second meal… if only I had more of the sides to go with it. I chose the yams and collard greens, and both were just as flavorful as the main dish—sweet, tender yams and perfectly seasoned greens that had just the right amount of soul. Overall, the food was satisfying and the atmosphere had that warm, welcoming vibe that keeps you coming back. I’ll definitely return for dinner again, but next time I might just order an extra side or two to balance things out. If you’re looking for a spot that serves up soulful, stick-to-your-ribs cooking, Sugar and Spice is definitely worth the visit.

5 /5 Palma Ceraos: I went to this little soul food spot the other night and honestly it felt pretty homey. The fried chicken had a nice crunch and the mac and cheese was super creamy, kinda like something your grandma would make. Service was friendly too, even though it was a bit busy, they still checked in a couple times. The place isn’t super fancy or anything, but that’s part of the charm I guess. Prices felt fair for what you get. Overall I’d say it was a good, cozy meal and I’d go back again.
