4 /5 N G: Was looking for something a little different but not too expensive while in Gainesville for an appointment. We found The Spot listed not to far from where we were and Greek sounded like a nice fish change of pace.
We ended up paying to park in the little deck right next door as endorphins in the area was full. When we walked in we were underwhelmed by the atmosphere... two small cafe tables inside the corner shop, a walk up counter to order from, and a drink cooler or two.
The lady at the counter greeted us briefly, not rude, but not what i would call pleasant either.
My husband ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki, and I ordered the Classic Chicken Souvlaki combo.
The food was ready relatively quickly and smelled great! Mine was huge!! Though they were both gyro style sandwiches, mine was definitely bigger than my husbands by far. He enjoyed his, which had the fries inside the sandwich (he didnt read what all he was ordering), but I ended up giving him the other half of mine because there was no way I could eat it all. There were pieces of chicken falling out everywhere! The tzatziki sauce was great, but the sandwiches could have used a little more. When i got to the half way mark, the chicken was starting to get a little dry so a bit more sauce would have been great. They may have given it to us if we asked but I already knew I was done with it myself, and my hubby seemed fine with it as is.
While the ambience and service were basic, the food was good, and there was plenty of it, so overall not a bad deal for the price!
