parkers on ponce

Parkers on Ponce - Decatur

ATL Reviews With A Bite! Parker’s on Ponce, nestled in the old Mick’s spot in downtown Decatur, has been a family favorite for nearly 20 years, especially for my mom. This underrated gem holds its own against Atlanta heavyweights like Bones, Marcel, McKendrick’s, and Capital Grille, offering exceptional steaks with a cozy, old-school vibe. Parker’s is just not as well known. My prime ribeye was cooked to perfection - juicy, flavorful, and a standout. The kitchen’s creativity shines through with high-quality ingredients and unique dishes, complemented by a solid adult beverage menu and great weekday bar specials (we had half-priced Gin cocktails at our Thursday visit!). The service is a highlight - Danny, our waiter for 17 years, consistently delivers warmth and attentiveness that make every visit special. The Scott family, who own Parker’s, are deeply tied to Decatur’s community, adding a personal touch to this family-run steakhouse. The ambiance, with its fireplaces and live piano, feels both classy and welcoming. One downside: parking can be tricky. Expect to pay $10 for the parking behind the restaurant (not their fault, just downtown Decatur). Still, the experience is worth it. If you’re after top-tier steaks, creative recipes, and stellar service, Parker’s is a must-visit.

David Dwyer We arrived about 2 hours ahead of our reservation, and decided to sit at the bar for dinner. The service, atmosphere and food didn’t disappoint. Ava and Amanda were extremely attentive and friendly. When you go - you have to get the shrimp cocktail. The dry ice presentation is just cool (not sure if my picture could capture this). My wife had the oysters Rockefeller and they didn’t last long. Steak was solid and on par with other Landry’s options, and the Australian Lobster Tail exceeded normal expectations on both size and flavor. All in all a good spot in Savannah for dinner.

G Gwyn Definitely quite pricey but the food and drinks were fantastic! The chef sent out fresh oysters for us to try and they were excellent, I actually didn’t like oysters until now. Jill was a very attentive server and helped me decide what to order. I would definitely come back here to celebrate another special occasion while in the city. All of the seafood seemed very fresh and high quality.

Bryan Reeb I absolutely love this place, the environment, the low lights set the perfect scene for an amazing dining experience. They have a great bar, with amazing house cocktails, the Espresso Martini was exceptional. For dinner I had the 8oz Prime Rib with a baked potato and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place, the salads are the best anywhere with a piece of homemade cornbread. If you’re in Cartersville and looking for a great place to eat, don’t miss your opportunity to have a great meal and a fun night out.

pcarruth2 Celebrated our anniversary here recently and the experience was 10/10 in every way. Beautiful space, amazing menu, attentive service, and great food to go with it all. The house focaccia is really light and airy, not what I expected, but a delicious way to start the meal with that tasty butter. We tried the Tomato Nduja Passata and Marinated White Anchovies with it as well. Both were great but those salty anchovies were wonderful. Next was the Arancini which was some of the best I’ve had. Just enough truffle and had a great consistency. The Shrimp with the Chile Butter was fantastic as well. Had some heat but not too much for my wife who’s not the biggest spice lover. For entrees we had the Agnolotti, the Crispy Pork ‘Milanese’ and a side of the Broccolini. The Agnolotti was as good as advertised. The Crispy Pork might have been my favorite though with that lemony clam sauce and the perfectly breaded and fried pork. Finished with some type of cheese cake I can’t remember but it was absolutely incredible, especially paired with a glass of Madeira wine. What a memorable anniversary it was. Can’t wait to come back.
