5 /5 C Singleton: Thanks, Mr. KP for an awesome experience! My husband and I were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of being guests at the Blaque Butterfly for our 28th Anniversary. When I tell you, KP was the host of hosts and our weekend stay did not disappoint. Even though we were the only guests for the two nights, the hospitality did not waiver. KP was gracious enough to cook for the two of us both nights. The steaks were mouth watering and cooked to perfection. The Tuscan soup, vegetables, bread…all of it was delicious. And as a send off, he (and Kira) prepared breakfast for us that was equally delicious. I have already started sharing with friends and family about our experience at the Blaque Butterfly-a true hidden gem. My husband and I are already making plans for a return visit.

5 /5 M GP: We were looking forward to our stay at Blaque Butterfly, however we cancelled a few months prior due to more family members deciding to join us on the trip. There was a miscommunication somewhere along the way, in regard to our cancellation, so we swung by the hotel to chat with someone in person to resolve the issue. We met with KP and he was honestly such a fun guy to talk to. He had an energy and kindness that left us with smiles on our faces. There was no issue at all, quickly resolved. So although we didn’t stay there, we had a really good experience with the Manager KP and loved the way the place was decorated and how quickly he took care of us. We will definitely book here the next time we visit family in Monticello.

5 /5 Paula Hawkins: How pleased was I. The Blaque Butterfly was a lovely experience. Located on a beautiful gorgeous tree lined property that offers a tucked away spot to relax and get lost in surprising art, elegance, and beautiful artifacts. At every turn I was greeted with beauty that made me smile. Each room is beautifully decorated. The baths rooms are exquisite. The food delicious, beautifully presented, leaving me happy, delightfully, satisfied. This place feels like an elegant summer home. I am already thinking of occasions to return to experience this wonderland again. I love, love, love The Blaque Butterfly.

5 /5 Michael & Jennifer Hayes: We were traveling from out of town to attend a funeral. We prefer to support small businesses, and chose the Blaque Butterfly over area hotels. We were so very thankful we did, it did not disappoint! The service was phenomenal. Very professional and personable. From the reservations, to the chef, to the grounds keeper, to the owner himself, we were met with warm Southern hospitality. And there was no comparison to the cleanliness of the Blaque Butterfly! It was extremely clean, neat, and inviting. It felt like “going home.” It reminded us of simpler days and the comfort of our childhood homes. Though it was a great stay for us during a difficult period, we think it would be an amazing place for a retreat, reunion, or any small celebration. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others!

1 /5 Kimbly Walker: This was more of an Airbnb instead of a Bed & Breakfast as advertised. *no attendant on site, the chef did show up the second morning, but briefly *the house was quite warm, and it took time to get it to a comfortable setting *the A/C unit in the sunroom was leaking to the point that we had to put a towel down to contain the puddle of accumulating water *an exterior door in the sunroom could not be secured, the lock was broken *breakfast was an additional $30, and was served in a To Go plate *the TV in the Merriweather room was non operational *a leg on the sitting chair in the Merriweather room was broken *there was another person in the house occupying a room that we briefly encountered on the second morning, and when asked if she was also a guest, she was elusive with her response and quickly exited the house… we can only assume she retuned that night because the light was on in the room she was occupying Again the property has a lot of charm and potential, it’s just lacking management. The website in my opinion is very misleading. The For Sale sign on the property spoke volumes and was a major red flag also.
