3 /5 B. L. Smith: Im gonna give you the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good: The family that runs the Canyon Quick Stop is friendly and polite. The dining area serves fresh cooked grill food items and offers a seating area for folks to sit down and enjoy a warm meal. The owners seem like decent people.
The bad: The parking lot and the gas/diesel pumps.. I dont know if this is an Indian thing or what, but many service station stores Ive been to that are owned and operated by Indian folks seem to always have very rough, pot-holed, broken-to-pieces parking lots. The Canyon Quick Stop is no exception. This particular store is also due for a gasoline/diesel pump upgrade..Maybe fifty years due.
The ugly: the bathrooms. Once again, this seems to be a common theme with the Indian franchises. I don’t know if it’s a matter of having been accustomed to another standard elsewhere in the world, but in the U.S. its considered good business to have a well made, smooth parking lot and a clean restroom for the public you serve.
Overall it’s an ok pit-stop, not at all great. It doesn’t have to be. It’s the only option you have on Hwy 136 at the top of Lookout Mnt.
