3 /5 Robert Reyes: We’re new to the Hoschton area and have been trying out local restaurants. We stopped by Casa Rica on a Saturday night and arrived around 9:00 PM, thinking we had plenty of time since Google listed their closing time as 10:30 PM. While we were seated, ordering, and waiting on our food, it became clear they were preparing to close earlier. The open signs were turned off, chairs were placed on tables, and most of the lights in the dining area were shut off, leaving only the main front area lit.
The service was fine, nothing bad but nothing memorable. The food was decent, but overall pretty average. I ordered the Pollo con Crema, which was okay, and my wife had the Camarones à la Diabla. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what we expected and didn’t have the creamy, chipotle-style flavor we’re used to. My wife also had a michelada and said it was just alright.
Given the circumstances and the fact that we arrived later in the evening, the experience felt a bit rushed. That said, they do have a very large menu with lots of options, so we’d be willing to give it another try at an earlier time and possibly order something different. Three stars for now.
