2 /5 Rennie Balogun: I celebrated my birthday at Chef KJ Koran restaurant. We ordered the A combo, which was enough food for three adults.
The combo included various meats such as Kal-jib mok-sal, ( pork shoulder) Dae-ji bul-go-gi, (thinly sliced pork),Yang-nyum gal-bi( short ribs) Sam-gyup-sal (pork belly), Seuk-soe bul-go-gi (grilled thinly sliced chuck roll) and Cha-dol-bak-ee (thinly sliced premium beef brisket).
Side condiments included spicy fermented cabbage( kim-chi) wasabi pickle, and pickled radish. We also ordered the fried dumplings and grape wine Jinron. Although the food was served quickly and the customer service was excellent, the taste was average. The meat lacked flavor, so I combined the condiments and used my own sarach sauce. A friend had told me that the restaurants meats lack seasonings, so I was prepared. This place is suitable for those new to Korean BBQ, but experienced individuals may want to look elsewhere. I will not be returning and recommend the Korean BBQ restaurant in Columbia, SC instead.
