El Jalisco Bainbridge -Food CA (Near Bainbridge)

1 /5 Nicholas Green: The food was just ok, but the service and overall experience was not. Some draft beer options that were on the menu were not available (should have been marked out or something). Had to ask multiple times for the cheese dip that was ordered and two of the entree orders came out incorrect. One was never fixed correctly so that person just gave up and ate it the way it came out the second time. Note that they charge 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more even if the checks are split. I did not realize that since most places only do that for parties of 8 or more (we had a party of 6). The waiter stood over me waiting for my card therefore making me nervous. So I only skimmed the food and drink descriptions and handed my card. I left wondering why my bill was so much for basic Mexican food and a few drinks only to find out after the fact that the gratuity was already added. I know thats really my fault, but I do feel that it was rude for the waiter to stand over me waiting for the card and not bring out the itemized receipt with the receipt that you write the tip on. So I feel tricked into double tipping. Needless to say, I likely will not be eating there again unless I am with a group and its where they insist on going.

5 /5 Shep Schaefer: Darned good Mexican food. The quesabirria and the table-made guacamole are stunning. The ceviche was solid work. Great service. My new favorite Mexican joint in Bainbridge, Georgia.

5 /5 Ashley Tillis: Best Mexican restaurant in Bainbridge. Quite possibly THE best restaurant in Bainbridge, for that matter. Honestly we go a couple times a week sometimes and dont get tired of it. The food is consistent and service is generally/overall very good. Faves include street tacos (pastor, barbacoa/birria), fluffy tacos, El Jalisco bowl with barbacoa, quesabirria, guacamole. Also, the fries dipped in queso... youre welcome. Only caveat is the consomé tastes like it mostly came from a jar and lacks the fatty richness and depth of flavor of an actual broth. Its a small complaint though.
