2 /5 deborah oquinn: I am extremely disappointed in Emmas quality as of the past few months. My husband and I had decided that we will no longer patronize the restaurant due to a decline in quality and service. Our most recent visit was a disaster. Our server, Jasmine, did not approach our table until 10 minutes after being seated and was extremely inattentive. We understand if a restaurant is busy, but it was quite the opposite. Her lack of personality and obvious annoyance with our presence made us very uncomfortable.
Once served, the food was bland, some of it tasted as if it had been microwaved, and the portions were EXTREMELY small relative to the price charged. It is understandable that Emmas is one of the finer restaurants in Statesboro, but this was ridiculous. I dont know what happened but it seems to have declined since Chef Scarboroughs departure with the restaurant. Our friends that introduced us to Emmas have agreed with us that there is a lack of pizzazz, which is disheartening, and they will not be returning as well until changes have been made.
I have to add, once the bill arrived and was paid, that we received a sheepish smile and not a" thank you" given. What was suppose to be a pleasant evening out for our anniversary, ended on a sour note.
