5 /5 Dan Dowling: Ive always tried to rate a restaurant for what it is within its category. And if there was ever a place that screamed, "Come on in yall for some good old fashioned Southern home cooking", this is it. Its a modified buffet style where you tell them what you want and they plop down a generous portion of it on to your plate. Serve yourself at the salad bar though.
All the usual dishes youd expect on an old fashioned southern table: from fried chicken to ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, rice, mixed vegetables, green beans, stewed cabbage, biscuits, peach cobbler etc. They do what they do, and its done right. You aint gonna leave hungry, or broke. But you will leave with a smile, an invitation to come back, and the memory of one of the better old-school meals you may have had in the south.
