5 /5 Ashley Flowers: Jalen’s is so good we drive from Bryceville, Florida to get it! Ribs are always good! Their smoked chicken salad is the best we’ve ever had, we had to get some to go. The only bbq place worth going to in Folkston.

2 /5 Cheri Strickland: This place was a definite disappointment although I’m always willing to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt. We asked for 2 “small” bbq sandwiches, fries & a large drink. The drink definitely was NOT a large. By South Georgia standards, a medium would best describe it. The sandwiches were humongous & very sloppy, but it is bbq, right? They definitely were not not smalls at all. One would think that’s okay IF the food was really good, but it was less than just good. Firstly, the meat was okay if you like fat, gristle and other elements in your bbq, of which I absolutely do not! The fries were pretty good since I do like my fries a mix between crispy and soft. Their bbq sauce was obviously an in-house make which was tasty, but not everyone likes a mustard base which is all you get. (I don’t care for a mustard base, but this was good). The total price was about $22 which I thought for a little small town and just “okay” bbq was excessive, but they did give us 2 large sandwiches instead. Lastly, their post on Google maps said they were open for all business but the dine in was closed & drive thru was the only option

5 /5 Ryan Warmack: I hate BBQ. To the point where my family jokes about it. That being said. I was taking a trip to purchase something out of Hilliard Florida and had to stop to buy windshield wipers at OReillys. When I got out of the car the smell was so good that I had to ask the people inside what it was. They told me it was the restaurant across the street called Jalens BBQ. I conferred with my friend and we decided to eat lunch there. The people from OReillys suggested the loaded fries, I was in more of a mood for a sandwich, so I got the sandwich, collard greens and potato salad. My friend got the sandwich and the half order of loaded fries. The food was absolutely amazing. The only disappointing thing about the visit was the fact that they do not sell their mustard-based sauce. It is not yet bottled for sale, that is a problem they are remedying at the moment. The portions were huge. The only thing I would have liked some more of was the potato salad but then I wouldnt have been able to finish everything else.

5 /5 Jennifer Sweat: I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, fries, collard greens, and sweet tea. Not only was Jordan at the window super friendly and nice, the food was awesome, and the portions were huge, I had plenty left over for a second helping later!
