Ashley Mundwyler After moving to cook county from San Francisco area I’ve been hunting for some good authentic Mexican food!! Let me tell you this place is amazing !!! The layers of flavors , great family atmosphere.

zaina williams 1ST TIME CUSTOMER LOOOOOORRRDDDDDDD!!! 2 hours in our trip home & We stopped here for lunch bc weve heard great things. 2 adults 3 kids (9,7,& 2) 3 of us got burgers (sd fries, slaw & cheese bites) , 1 honey mustard chicken wrap (9yr old ) and chicken nuggets. LET ME TELL YOUUUUU ! We spent the next 2 hours talking about how delicious this food was! It felt like we literally went to a friends cook out. It felt like home eating it. The crispy fries were pef perfect. The buttery crip cheese bites perfect. The burgers perfect! Etc. My husband had the slaw and immediately said "Oh hell yea". Yall, if you can, stop here. The line might be long but I PROMISE its worth the wait. The 9yr old said it was the best chicken wrap shes ever had.

Juliet Barnett The Southern Shack has some new menu items and they do not disappoint. The Brunswick stew was delicious, the hand pulled pork was a very generous serving and the barbeque beans were yummy.

Jude Foret I pulled into town to fill up my gas tank and saw this place and thought why not. Im sure glad that I did! The salsa was a little thin, but it had an amazing flavor...a little spicy yet not overwhelming with cumin. To balance the chips and salsa out, I added an order of guacamole. Im Cajun by birth, but felt like the king of Mexico after that surprising treat.

Dr. CH R This restaurant is easy to find and offers parking in the back of the building. Meals can be eaten in the restaurant or ordered inside for takeout. The restaurant is clean and practically furnished with lots of advertising on the tables and menus. Table service today was a bit slow, but all of the employees were friendly. The hushpuppies and slaw were not great, but the fried catfish, fried shrimp, and caramel pie were just delicious. Campton serves quite a variety of selections, from sandwiches to daily specials, steaks, barbecue, and seafood. Pricing was fair. For diners who love novelties, the restaurant sells a "Straight Outta Campton" tee shirt.
