3 /5 Jean V: The atmosphere is fun and inviting, service is good and the food is mediocre. I didnt try their pizza this time around, but Id probably come back just to try that. It seems like pizza might be the best option to get here, as a lot of people were ordering pizza.
Ive come to the bar here several times after dinner hours for drinks with family and friends. Its always a vibe. Good drinks, great music and a place that locals seem to love on the weekend. So I definitely recommend coming here for that (plus a dance floor inside and pool table outside if youre into that).
This particular night I came in for dinner with the fam, and the food just didnt hit the spot. It was pretty busy with people enjoying dinner and watching the football game (plenty of TV screens here). I noticed a lot of people ordered pizza, which I probably should have followed.
Instead, I ordered the tortellini pasta and added shrimp. It came with a side salad which was probably the only fresh thing I had. The garlic bread it came with didnt have enough butter nor garlic on it. The pasta was a standard store-bought pasta that didnt have much filling. Although the sauce tasted good, I could have used more of it on my plate. And the shrimp wasnt fresh (I could tell it was from a frozen package). I mean its partly my fault for ordering this at a pizza joint.
I also tasted a bite of everyone elses dishes and everything was just mediocre. The Caribbean flatbread my sister ordered didnt really have a Caribbean taste in my opinion; it just tasted like a bunch of cheese and chicken. My moms lemon pepper wings were cooked perfectly, but could have used more lemon pepper flavor. The ranch sauce was so bland. My brother seemed to enjoy his chicken wrap though, so thats a plus. I tried one of his onion rings and that was probably the best thing on the table.
Overall, I rate the food 3-stars. The friendly service and lively family atmosphere made the experience better. I appreciated seeing the owner zip around delivering food along with the servers.
I hope to come back and update my review to a better rating after trying something else on the menu.
