Jalapeños Cantina of Macon - Macon
Cthulhu Ryleh Coming from Oklahoma, finding Mexican food that suits me has proven difficult. Today, Jalapeños Cantina changed that. This was easily the best Mexican Ive experienced in the South East. The Enchilada Verdes had exactly the right kick. No notes. The Tamale, ditto. The house margarita, was also right on target.
My only notes would be on two items I have yet to see in this part of the country. The first would be offering the house cheese dip as a table dressing alongside an array of vegetables and tortillas. The second is a "dirty" glass of Mexican beer. The glass is frozen and dipped into a slush of lime. The beer is the poured as usual, with the accompanying slice of lime. Its all in the presentation.
That said, I can’t recommend Jalapeños Cantina of Macon any more strongly. Spit out whatever youre eating now, and come get some of this.
