3 /5 Kristie Ang: We were in town for a regatta competition and staying across the street at the Courtyard, so we were excited to try Sizzling Spices for a convenient dinner. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience overall.
Unfortunately, the food itself was just average and didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We ordered the Momo Himalayan Delight, crispy calamari, egg rolls, Vindaloo Lamb, Bengali Goat Bhuna, and the lamb shank biryani. While everything was presented well, the flavors were lacking and felt a bit muted across the dishes. Nothing stood out as particularly memorable, especially given the menu’s promise of bold spices.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad meal, but it also wasn’t impressive. With the good atmosphere and service, we were hoping for more flavor and depth in the food, and left feeling a bit disappointed.
