The Clayton Cafe - (Near Clayton, GA)

5 /5 Chris Medlock: We visit friends in Franklin NC every year and took a trip down to Clayton as we were visiting waterfalls. The Clayton Cafe is a great place to stop in for a quick bite. All of our food was amazing but I was blown away by the fried chicken sandwich. Hot, crispy, juicy, tender, well seasoned, and LARGE! Definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Come with a big appetite or enjoy your leftovers later. The staff was great and took great care of us. The restaurant as a whole was just outstanding and we will make this a yearly stop. Thank you Clayton Cafe!!!!

3 /5 Melissa Eason: Stopped for lunch. Food was not very good, they were very kind and refunded us. The breakfast looked good and we probably shouldve ordered that. Chicken and dumplings was more like a chicken stew with no dumplings, just veggies and chicken. If thats the way it normally is maybe consider calling it something else. No flavor to the lima beans and the casserole of the day was not good. However, the fried green tomatoes were very good, I would get those again. And the corn muffins were good. Hubs said his chicken tenders were over cooked. I cant say I recommend any of the chicken dishes, but service was great. Try breakfast or maybe a sandwich or burger. I appreciated them offering a refund for the chicken and dumplings especially at $17.99, hate to pay a high price for something not good. If we pass through again, Ill try them for breakfast.

5 /5 Rhonda Robinson: Another great gem in Clayton Georgia! This quaint Cafe has a great history. Opened in 1931 in a building that first served as the local Trailways Bus station, the Clayton Cafe is the landmark eatery in Clayton. Friendly service, hometown vibe. Great food!! I recommend the pumpkin pancakes or the cornbeef hash!!

5 /5 Maralee: We enjoyed our meal here. They were busy but kept cleaning and reseating the next guest. They did a great job! Their friend green tomato does have a spice to it that we were not expecting.

4 /5 Ben Hannon: My family has been coming here for years and has always loved the food. However, this year was a bit disappointing. The restaurant was ice cold, and they have changed the mac and cheese, which used to be delicious. All four members of my family agreed that it was some of the worst mac and cheese we have had. Overall, I would recommend the cafe, but I hope management will address these two issues.
