The Hangout Bar & Grill - (Near Brunswick, GA)

4 /5 Stephany Arwood: We went opening weekend and the service was great, the atmosphere fantastic and the food was good! The spinach dip was really good as well as the cheese bread! The burger was a little over done for my taste and the bun a little burnt, BUT everyone really enjoyed their meals! The fried porkchops were battered and cooked to perfection but could use a little more seasoning. Prices are good and the server handled our party of 10 with ease!

4 /5 Addy D: Im new to the area from Cali but originally from NY and was very skeptical at first glance and kept driving by lol. However, I decided to give it a try being its right up the road from the house. We were greeted and seated and served by Asia who was very welcoming to my wife and I. I noticed there was a buffet but was also skeptical about it lol but I kid you not I felt like I was eating Sunday Dinner! Food was so good!!! I can only speak to the buffet but A+ on the chef! Then I wanted to challenge their bartender with a drink not on the menu, which was a side car. I was told the male bartender was not familiar with but looked it up and came through! For first time making a a side car, I give it a 6.5 out of 10! There was also a live band that was pretty good! We will definitely be back for NFL Sunday Football!

Inside, the atmosphere is lively and energetic, with several TVs showing sports and a mid-week trivia night that clearly draws an enthusiastic crowd. I arrived a bit too late to join the trivia, but listening to everyone cheer and participate in the background added a fun, upbeat energy to the evening. That said, anyone looking for a quiet or intimate dining experience should know that it can get a little loud. The service was one of the highlights of the visit. My server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful in answering my questions about the menu. As for the food, it wasn’t quite what I expected. The temperature was a bit on the cooler side, and it seemed like the dishes may have been sitting for a short time before being brought out. While the flavors had potential, a hotter, more freshly served plate would have made a big difference. Overall, the restaurant offers a vibrant, social atmosphere and great service, with room for improvement in food execution. It’s a lively spot that many people clearly enjoy—especially on trivia night—and with a little more attention to the kitchen timing, it could be even better.

5 /5 Aleen K: This was such a wonderful little treasure to find in the area. The buffet salad, pizza and taco bar were just great! Fresh and delicious; their deal also included a drink; it was all worth it. The restaurant is clean, and service was well. We went two days in a row and didn’t regret it. :)

5 /5 Jeff Becker: Neat little Bar & Grill! We were on a road trip and wanted to eat at a place that wasnt a chain restaurant. Googled "food near me" and up popped The Hangout Bar & Grill. Fit us to a T. Its a typical Bar & Grill with a Rock & Roll flair! The specialty drinks are appropriately named and the decor although minimal is apropos. I ordered the smash burger with jalapeños. It was so good I forgot to put it down before taking the photo. Youll have to order one for yourself to see it! The fries were crispy on the outside and light and fluffy texture inside. It opened in March 2025. Stop by if youre in the area. Grab a burger and a Hot for Teacher!
