20s Hideout Steakhouse - Marion

Rating: 4.5 /5
Mike Mansfield An easy location to get to we arrived around 4:45 pm and it was already getting busy. We didn’t have reservations so they sat us over in the bar area. No problem as it was more secluded and quiet than the open dining room. The decor is of a 1920’s Speakeasy with all employees dressing the part as well. My wife had a 6 oz. Flat iron steak cooked to medium well and the chef nailed it. I had Cajun chicken with a slab of baby back ribs and a side of baked sweet potato. Chef nailed that one too. The Cajun was not overly spicy and the chicken was as moist as I’ve ever eaten. The ribs fell off the bone and had a nice BBQ sauce that was slightly sweet. An overall great food experience. They also have a piano bar with live music playing. I’ll suggest that if you go later in the evening to make reservations.

Summer House Santa Monica - Chicago

F H Summer House Santa Monica is the best restaurant I have ever been to! Summer House provides a very pleasant atmosphere. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with beautiful decor and I was immediately escorted to my table. The waiter that I had was very kind and helpful. I ordered the strawberry fields zero proof and it was very good. I ordered the Parmesan truffle fries and edamame for my appetizer. For my entree I ordered the rigatoni with red sauce and it was absolutely amazing. It is very fun to have a cookie bar with tons of options. I ordered the birthday cake cookie with ice cream and it was delicious! Overall, Summer House is the best restaurant in Chicago and I would highly recommend coming here.

Armitage Alehouse - Chicago

Rating: 4.5 /5
Sandra Gómez Armitage Alehouse delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Though the space is small and cozy, it is absolutely worth the wait. Every staff member—from the hostess to the bus team—was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, setting the tone for a wonderful afternoon. The food was outstanding and thoughtfully prepared, with bold, well-balanced flavors throughout. The restaurant is known for its pot pies and tikka masala, and it’s easy to understand why. We enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and the NY strip steak, both of which were excellent choices. Our sides—the mashed potatoes and broccoli—were equally impressive. The broccoli, in particular, was elevated by a rich butter sauce that made it truly memorable. Dessert was a highlight. The sticky date cake was phenomenal and a must-order, offering a decadent finish that exceeded expectations. Special recognition goes to Alyssa, our bartender, whose knowledge of local beers was impressive, and Albany, our server, whose attentiveness and care reflected the restaurant’s commitment to hospitality. The attention to detail throughout the evening did not go unnoticed. We were thoroughly impressed with Armitage Alehouse and look forward to returning soon.

Stuart Burns Omg!!! Loved the atmosphere and amazing food. Best part though was our server Jordan. He was on point with our needs and his attitude was perfect. The food industry needs more happy and attentive servers. We will definitely be back when we next visit Moline.

Annie Fisher This evening my dad and I came to this restaurant for a fancy night out for UIUC dads weekend. We were met by our server Kevin who was inviting and attentive. He did a great job explaining the menu and providing us with some great recommendations. We had a mixture of hot and cold dishes. The Korean BBQ wings were so good I did not have a chance to photograph them before they were gone. The sushi is up to par with any great metropolitan area. There is a good combination of comfort food and something spicy and exotic for everyone. My dad can attest to the fact that the wines were hand picked and well suited for the cuisine. Lastly, the menu is broad but no too big, and is focused on freshness and quality. Even the desserts were surprisingly fresh and light, a perfect ending to a perfect meal (pistachio sponge cake and mascarpone cheesecake). Highly recommend!
