Potrillos Mexican Grill - Carlinville

Penny Black My first visit. The Quesadilla Grande was excellent. Although extremely busy due to Christmas Market weekend, the great drinks tied us over fine till the tasty Mexican fare arrived. We’ll definitely be back. Especially because they’re right across the street from one of my favorite Route 66 motels, the CarlinVilla.

Melissa Baiter We saw the pasta night advertisement on Facebook and went to check out the place. We were greeted at the door, very welcoming, the decor was lovely and the food was very tasty and fresh. 2 of us had the white sauce and one of us the red and we were all happy with the flavors. I really like being able to have 2 smaller portions, rather than one large one and being able to switch the 2nd portion for a different sauce/pasta/meat combo was great too. Last but not least our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She was zipping around from table to table making sure everyone was well taken care of, beverages refilled and empty plates promptly removed. She was on top of it and was so gracious while doing so. We look forward to checking out the regular menu days and relaxing with drinks in the front area of the place in the near future.

M Rogers I dined solo on a Saturday night. I made a reservation at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. The Caesar salad had pistachios, which was an interesting twist. It was not a traditional Caesar. They were able to accommodate my gluten-free diet, which was great. The lamb loin main dish was interesting. The Colorado lamb was not at all gamey, which surprised me. It did seem a bit tougher to chew than I expected. The dessert was tasty. I was seeking a special experience and this place delivered. It seems to be one of the more creative restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend it. Make sure to make a reservation!

Año Del Gallo - Oglesby

Pamela Vargas One of the coolest and most exquisite restaurants I have been in Illinois! It is a true gem! They have a huge variety of special tequilas and mezcal. The cocktail menu is super creative and the food is spectacular. I had the smoked trout pancakes and they were outstanding, as well as the burger and liver. The ambience is super cool and the service is top notch. Will definitely go back!!

Kelsey Edgington We love this place! Love that they have healthy options to choose from as well. The southwest egg rolls are a MUST! The staff is always so friendly, we went for lunch today and there was a table near us of….not friendly patrons. The waitress serving that table went above and beyond to accommodate them but they were just plain rude. We ended up giving that waitress a tip as well as ours. The staff here is always willing to make it the best dining experience, so don’t be rude to your wait staff!! They are busting their butts and already under-appreciated. This place will always be our go-to whenever we want to eat out. Your establishment is a wonderful addition to our community, and we LOVE that you have expanded your menu. Can’t wait to go back and eat more amazing food!!

Brad Brening The owners did a great job remodeling this place and creating a great atmosphere. The food is outstanding, Ive been here twice so far and both dishes were exceptional. The staff are all very friendly. This restaurant would do great anywhere, its awesome to have such a nice place in our area!
